If that's the case then brilliant. If it's the usual temperatures for the country though its quite hot there.

Point is, it shouldn't matter at the end of the day. It's a game of football to go and win; get a goal, or ideally goals and keep them out.

Sick of hearing folk in the media saying "fear them". All due respect and everything off the pitch, but on it we should really be beating teams like this, reasonably comfortably, imo.

Just asking but why should we beat Astana reasonably comfortably? They have played 21 league games in last 4 months and are 10 points clear. In last season's CL they didn't lose at home to Athletico Madrid, Benfica, Galatasary - drew with them away. Seems pretty good record, so why?

They seem to be improving going by their past European exploits, notably against Galatasaray and Benfica

I just think that, with all due respect to them, Celtic Football Club should be a better team than FC Astana from Kazakhstan. And if we can't muster up a good performance despite the conditions and being near the start of the season, then we don't deserve to go through.

No, if we win, we go into the CL playoff round ; if we lose, we go into the EL playoff round :42:.

Astana is a tough one. They signed Ibraima from Maribor and they have some pace. I fancy us to do a job on them away from home. Some Serbians, some African players and a Columbian.

Interesting tie, and a good draw. Game like that really brings the fitness right on. I fancy this 3-5-2 to do damage at home and Toure gives us a steady back four.

That steadies the ship maybe. Scott Sinclair and the pre-season work is about done.

Toure, Dembele, Sinclair would be a very steady approach to Brenda's first transfer window.

I think Ateltico Madrid are a pretty * good team and I'd be happy if we matched their standards all round - they drew out there. It's 2 legs, we don't have to kill it over there, would be great if we could but if we lose 2-1 or draw 1-1 or something... there's still the second half to come at Parkhead.

Away goal is crucial. An away goal and we can overturn any result at park head with no worries of them sneaking an away goal.

Can't wrap my head around what the starting 11 will be for this one.. the formation or the personnel.

Particularly in defense. We playing 3 or 4 at the back? Erik will be one.

Who goes beside him? O'Connell, Lustig, or Toure.

What if it's three at the back, which two?

Would it be crazy to throw Toure in? Or given the youth or lack of natural position of the alternatives, does he make up with experience what he lacks in sharpness/fitness/familiarity with the team?

Guess we can shorten that list of defenders! Rodgers said in post-match that he thinks Wednesday probably too soon for Toure.

I think the back 4 picks itself.

How many players have we got registered for this round of CL.
If 25 then we have to drop someone to allow Toure to play.
