People forget things as well. When we were in the last 16 of the champions league and selling Forster and Wanyama for ~£10m we still never spent all that much. I think we run at a bigger loss than people realise.

 

Really? I think we need cover for Lustig and that's it. Erik and Kolo, Jozo and OConnell for cover. If this new keeper is good that would be good enough for me. We won't get any better I think.

The thing is, we've already spent some of that £30m. Celtic's business model operates on the assumption that we'll qualify for the CL twice every 4 years. So this is just us breaking even. I'd expect us to sign two more players, and spend around £5m.

 

Ideally we would get 3 in a RB, CDM and another striker.

I would spend some of next season transfer budget between now and Christmas.

 

Lawwell is very often full of * in my view but on this occasion I actually think we are going to spend a bit. The way our board seems to operate is: Get a new manager in, back him well in his first season, give him peanuts after that.

So given that this is Brendan's first summer window here, I expect the purse strings will be loosened. Just don't expect much next summer when we're all sitting here saying we're only a couple of players away from being a really good side.

 

We NEED to spend, we need more quality cause we clearly lack it and we can all see this after our away performances in the champions league plus we need more in to help win the league and perform in all the cups as well.

Lawwell has lied in the past now it's time to back a quality manager and give him the tools he needs.

15 mil will include players wages.Say Sinclair earns 35k a week that £1820000 a year plus the 3 mil transfer fee,nearly a 3rd of the budget on Sinclair alone

 

I'd imagine we'll be seeing at least a couple. Problem is the squad is still too big. Johanson out is a start but still need a few more to go. The Rogers effect will come through even more with a smaller squad.

 

What about the wages we freed up when players left are they added back into the transfer kitty? Pretty sure 15 million to spend means transfer money...

I thought lawell said it was europa they budget for at start of every season because cl isnt guaranteed and only make the adjustments when we qualify
