Aye but it'd be good to get someone in today and get him ready for the return leg

Do we not have the wildcard signing we can make?, so we still have a chance for one after tonight.

Even if we do get someone in, we are going about it the wrong way.

Throwing a 'wildcard' onto a massive match like that is risky as *. Especially in the CB area. We should have had most targets in a few weeks ago.

We hadn't even returned to training a few weeks ago... was rodgers supposed to have used psychic powers to assess the squad?

    Psychic powers?

Right let's see - he knew Boyata and Simunovic were injured, leaving us with Sviatchenko and Ambrose as the only "established" and senior centre backs. He must have been told, or seen for himself from videos of our matches that Ambrose is utter pish. I'm sure he's told the board he needs a centre half.

Not getting one in by now is beyond madness.

Yeah I agree, I think we are going for targets out of our reach. There was no way we were going to get Allan. I don't really think we need the luxury of the Sinclair especially on the amount he will cost and wages * cost.

That's one thing about having Rodgers, the market he knows/wants is out of our reach.

We should have been on the hunt for a CB regardless of him assessing the squad.

Boyata and Simu injured. Mulgrew contract up. Efe * useless.

If we don't get Duffy tonight we have a cracker of a story about the deal that's so unbelievable you'll know it's true!

I think we fully expected Mulgrew to sign and Toure to be signed by now.

Not shocked but * off at the lack of signings.

A CB and a DM is an absolute priority. Can someone tell Celtic? :54:

Hopefully we'll have a few in by next week. Not holding my breathe though.

What's the prognosis on Boyata and Simunovic? When are they due back? We're badly lacking at centre half despite having at least four passable* ones on the books. We really need one in ASAP due to circumstances, but I can see why we're holding off given the size of the squad. With that in mind I'd take a loan deal for 6 months with extension/buy clause, but we need one in NOW.

    CDM would be a bonus.

*Excludes Ayer who's makeshift and inexperienced and therefore a huge risk in Europe, O'Connell who's inexperienced and therefore a huge risk in Europe, and Ambrose who's generally speaking a liability and therefore an even bigger liability in Europe.

Every year I hope we'll change the way we operate and every year I'm left disappointed.

We'll probably not need them anyway for SPL.

    I'm guessing that's the thinking.

All the people saying "no need to panic, we have time etc" it's been known for a while that this squad is sub standard, after failing to reach the CL 3 consecutive times, an embarrassing performance in Europe last season, humbled by Sevco and becoming the international laughing stock of football after being beaten by The Red Imps, of course there should be urgency. I'm sorry but beating a pub team 3-0 at home wasn't very impressive, our players train everyday get paid a fortune and these guys work full time in other jobs. This squad has no one really of real CL quality and calibre. That's okay though because the board can invest and prioritise safe standing so they can make more money from us but when it comes to investing in a CL squad and giving us our monies worth they always come up short. Most of this squad should of been offloaded, cut price if need be and like any business real investment in their assets rebuilding a squad which wouldn't of cost them as much had they not been cutting so many corners the past 3-4 years

I don't doubt for a minute Rodgers hasnt targeted players and individuals, but are the board chasing them to their full capacity? I doubt it! Will Rodgers accept that happening? We will wait and see...
