I can't help but think that would make it difficult to see what was happening in evening games.

Yes. Really worried me that Rodgers thought that putting Griffiths out on wing would be a good idea- which also knocked Roberts out the team. Playing Ambrose as well... Rodgers must not have watched Celtic in years.

griffiths was not on the wing it was 4-3-3 with griffiths playing on the right of the front three.

but i agree pretty * formation for our side.4-3-3 is one of rodgers preffered formations,he seen it didnt work so think we will lineup the way we did against wolfsburg.

the 4-3-3 was a joy to watch with liverpool. sterling saurez sturridge.
then you had coutinho from midfield supporting that front three with two battlers gerrard and henderson in midfield.

we just dont have the luxury of that talent.

Every football fan seems to want 4-4-2 but almost none of the top teams play this. Either football fans know better than guys paid million of pounds and under the strain of management pressures for their jobs or you know, not.

    Brown
    Armstrong McGregor
    Roberts Griffiths Christie

Would be tempted to play mcgregor infront of the back 4 and Allan in, but I can't see brown being dropped.

Our 2 best players are arguably Griffiths and Dembele. Both are pure strikers and not really suited to playing wide in a 3 (Although I reckon Griffiths will be put there at some stage)

Should bear in mind Atletico, France and Portugal all played 4-4-2 so it isn't that rare.

Against the likes of Imps, I can't see why it wouldn't work, plus would get Roberts on the right as well. Worked well against Wolfsburg.

    In one game...

Griff scored twice from there in a friendly. How about we give the manager I dunno, say 5 competitive games to see how his team/style is working?

I'd be very tempted to start Allen ahead of brown for this in that team of yours.

Armstrong Allen mcgregor have been our best cm players during preseason

The top teams have the personnel for their fancy formations

The first half on Saturday proved we have what it takes for a 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 and should give them a bash.

Leicester and Atletico did ok with it

    We aren't a top team.

Ideally I'd like us to play a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 but I don't believe our players are good enough. One of the main problems under Deila.

Tend to agree. Wasn't at the Wolfsburg game but heard we were playing a 442 and 352 at times? Maybe we need to get back to basics and get results with what we have until we get in better players to be able to use other systems effectively.

Also, keep having dreams that we lose the second leg. * knows what that's all about!

The formation won't make the difference, the performance will.
