    Go 3-5-2...

    Gordon
    Lustig, Sviatchenko, Tierney
    McGregor, Armstrong
    Roberts, rogic, Christie
    Griffiths, Dembele

If that team can't shred the * on a big, perfect pitch then we don't * deserve to be anywhere near europe anyway...

Edit: oh, just saw some other formations and realised I'd forgotten Ajer. Not seen him at all yet, so not sure he's better than Armstrong, but I'd be open to playing him in DM instead

Did the thought cross anyone's mind that we've been told by Man City that he's not allowed to play on that pitch in case he got injured? I'm not saying that's true, but it's possible. Can't believe for a minute that Rodgers chose Forrest over him...

Its actually soul destroying when you see the lack of talent in our squad !! Posters are listing their team for the next leg and when you look at all the different line ups it becomes more and more obvious just how crap we really are these days . We have maybe 3 or 4 who have any real upside the rest are dross or past it , hopefully the manager wont take long in finding out what most of us have known for a while and gets some quality in here asap !!

I was assuming the reason he didn't play was because of the pitch.
But if that was the case, why was he taking up a place on the bench if he was never going to play?!

100% agree - this effort looked no better than the worst of Ronny and there's one common, persistent, factor - Scott Brown 'Celtic Captain'. Rogers will be making the biggest mistake of his career to persist with Brown. Celtic need a new, for-real and proper, captain of the football team. Brown never has been that calibre and Rogers needs to lobby the board to bring in a real midfield general. Barton is right - Brown is not in his league.

I think if Brown was not playing we would have won 3 or 4 : 1 last night.

    Shocking!

However, Brendan Rogers spoke very well indeed after the match. Just hope he's as good in considering the captain role now.

I know we're bad, but surely we don't need 12 players to beat them?

It's not a coincidence that some of our best play last season was when he was out the team.

Totally agree Regi. We are widden in midfield when brown plays - no cutting edge, no imagination - exactly like last night.

I've maintained for a long-time we should be aiming higher. £25k p/wk for a guy with such limited technical ability is ridiculous. Absolutely abysmal passing and doesn't score enough goals, when he was younger he was redeemed by his ability to win the ball back and harry opponents, now that's gone it's difficult to see what he offers us.

The problem being I don't see Rodgers dispensing of Brown going on his early interviews; and even if he did I'm not convinced we'd find a buyer on his current terms.

Whilst I'm not discounting he's given us some good performances over the years, he's also been the consistent factor in a long list of shambolic performances - many as captain. Ross county semi-final x 2, Utrecht, Killie CIS cup final, St. Mirren semi-final, Sevco semi-final...off the top of my head. Whilst there are many other contributing factors that's one * of a list - and there's probably a good few I've forgot about.

I'm feeling so meh about Celtic right now. Until the players give a * I'm feeling like I don't either.

I've always been a faithful through and through guy and usually first to post that following * results but just feel really deflated.

Want this tie done and dusted quickly next week and we can move the * on! :ynwacelti

Now that Ambrose place in the team is in serious doubt we are in a position that we need to put a 17 year old midfielder in at CB. Once again a * shambles from those running the club.

Bit harsh when we have 2 CB's out injured who would get a place in the team before Efe.

They've also known for quite a while this would be the case and with Mulgrew out-of-contract surely Rodgers has made clear his targets? I'd say this is another case of us * about and taking unnecessary risks.
