If we do go down a goal and theres alot of pressure coming our way we do have an option to go 4-5-1 with taking off Hesselink and putting Donati in Hartleys postion, letting Hartley drop back a little.

I like that formation apart from Donati, i think hes a good player and he can pass really nice balls but he can give the ball away easy at times witch is worrying in the CL, i would rather have Robson on as he has already played them and if you remember he got praise from Henry.

 

Remembering Barca arent at their best and are missing a few players i'd go with this selection because it allows us to change formations during the game from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 to 4-5-1 at ease.

And with the choices now available on the bench we know we have the quality in depth to replace in every position with the exeption of mybe Artur.

I agree barca are fragile. But they attack from the flanks with Ronny on the left and Messi on the right. I just think your formation would leave to much space behind our full backs.


P.S. diamond 1888. Robson for donati a bit of a gamble as he has not played to much at this level. However in saying that not to sure Donati is the best choice either.

 

In my opinion playing 3 at the back barca would rip us apart, we are good but not that good specialy in defence at the moment

 

Anyone know if the Barcelona team arrive in Glasgow on Monday or Tuesday?

 

Does anyone know the pilot. Maybe we could give him a few quid to turn up on thursday.:icon_mrgreen:

Agreed, stick with a winning combination. I will be surprised if they start. Samaras looks capable and good driving forward just in front of the midfield and capable of getting into the box as well as hitting the occasional screamer from outside the box. Jvoh and McDonald as the target man to start and Samaras for the last third to make it 3-0. I'm getting all excited

 

This sounds a little convienent to me. I could be wrong but I dont think we will see the big man in the hoops again. I had a funny feeling that Bobo was to be declared unfit for this one. IMO this news will help WGS or the club (not to sure who is making the decision about not playing the big man.) shut the door on Bobo for good. Maybe a we bit contreversial I know but it does seem a bit convienent as they have been extremely reluctant to play Bobo in the past and I am sure this atitude will now continue.

I now kind of agree with Chukiaria in regards to his 3-5-2 formation as a extra CB may help as Bobo is now ou.t A slight adaptation to Chuck´s formation.However WGS will stck to 4-4-2.

Cant see him starting odea or caddis so i think he wull go with this. * HOPE NOT!!!!

 

If he starts with Hartley at RB then we may as well give them the tie, Hartley is a really bad RB and rightfully so as its not his true position.

I want Samaras and Robson to replace the suspended Brown and JVOH but think that JVOH will keep his place with Hartley taking Browns role.

Maybe time for Caddis to come back at RB and do a David Marshall type performance.

 

think thats maybe asking a bit too much from the lad. He would be my preffered option at RB,as the only natural one available. But ive got a sneaky feeling that strachans gonny put hartley there
