I wouldn't have thought so, no. I'd imagine Man City are just happy that he's getting first team football. I'd also imagine they would be very keen to see him taking part in our Champions League fixtures.

There probably have been some loan deals between clubs where the position the player is used in has been a condition of the deal but I'd be amazed if that was the case with Roberts.

Possibly, but I'm guessing him getting first team games every week will be an absolute must condition in his loan, otherwise what's the point in loaning him out in the first place.

    * I forget how good he is at putting a ball away, guy has a class finish on him.

I think you're right, his natural position wouldn't interfere with Roberts as they basically play on opposite sides of the pitch even though they kick with the same foot.

Edit: I noted Forrest was out on that left wing a couple of times providing too.

Cheers guys, that's what I was thinking but wasn't too sure. It does seem such a natural position he enjoys playing too.

Maybe the older players get the stricter the positional play becomes.

I'd be very surprised even if we did sign Sinclair that he would start ahead of Roberts tomorrow. It's far too soo and Roberts is far too effective to leave out. If it was GMS or Forrest then maybe I'd understand your point but I'll be absolutely stunned if Roberts doesn't start instead of a new player tomorrow. In fact I'll be stunned if he doesn't start even if there are no new players. I would have thought he would fit right into Rodgers attacking style of play.

Ok, benefit of the doubt this time.

BT have it, it's on BT Sport Europe or BT Sport 2.

SB: "We had a good couple of weeks in Slovenia - hard & warm - but everyone is looking as sharp as they possibly can.

SB: "The gaffer has been talking us through how we want to play, been really good from start to finish, well organised, great tempo.

SB: "First round of the qualifier always hard as we are playing catch-up but we are all fighting fit and ready to go.

SB: "We need to get to the group stages, been a hard two years to take. Reason I came to Celtic, on the day we are as good as anyone.

SB: "The training has been phenomenal since the gaffer came in. All the lads are buying into it, a smile back on everyone's faces.

SB: "There is always confidence going into #UCL and need to get through each round as we go. Need to put things right.

SB on the opposition: "A few brothers that play in the team, so they will have a good bond, they will work hard & a very honest team.

SB on the heat: "Going to be different to what we are used to but we have to keep the ball and it can do more work than we do.

SB: "We have brought Moussa in & he has been fantastic. Strong, physical and has an eye for a goal, will definitely help.

BR on his first match as Celtic manager: "Very much looking forward to it. It's come early, but a huge privilege to lead out the team.

BR: "Always tricky game & there is the surface as well, but our players have worked tirelessly over course of the last 20-odd days.

BR: "I’m delighted with the improvements in them in terms of fitness & technical aspects. Still a long way to go.

BR: "We have watched Lincoln play and very workmanlike and won over the course of 2 games to play us, so will give them respect.

BR: "But focus very much on ourselves. A job we have to do over 2 games. The heat & pitch will make it trickier but we will be ready.

BR: "Over the past four or five days we have been able to formulate the ideas of how we will play and work on it.

BR on pitch: “It’s never ideal but the beauty of our boys is that they have some experience of that back home.

BR: "What I have learned with this group is they can cope with pretty much everything, just get on with it, keen to work & improve.

BR: “Pitches like that suit your technical-based players and thankfully we have a lot of them. Looking forward to it.

BR: "Celtic is always the big attraction, the big draw, the big club so we are very proud to take Celtic around the world.

BR: "To travel to different parts of the world for our supporters and players. Every game big for us.

BR: "Certainly from what I’ve seen in the opening weeks together, the structure & cohesion in the team coming along very well.

BR: "Very happy at development of the team so far. Pleasantly surprised by the players, their commitment & how they've taken on ideas.

BR on his first competitive game as Celtic manager: “Very proud, really looking forward to it. Can’t wait for it to get underway.

BR: "A long way to go where ideally I want us to be, the signs are that I’m going to look forward to this season, exciting for sure.
