English Rangers fan in coma after attack by Russian thugs in Marseille

A fundraising appeal for a Rangers fan left in a coma after reportedly being targeted by Russian thugs has raised over £10,000.
Stewart Gray, from Leicestershire, is the second England fan to be comatosed after violent scenes rocked Marseille ahead of England and Russia's Euro 2016 clash.
England fan Andrew Bache, 51, also suffered serious brain injuries .
French chief prosecutor Brice Robin has blamed Russian thugs for the * clashes, which put dozens in hospital.
He said: “There were 150 Russian supporters who in reality were hooligans. These are extremely well trained people.
"These people were well prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action."

Stewart, who describes himself as a Leicester City and Rangers fans, works as a production planner at Burnetts Manufacturing Limited.
According to a fundraising page set up by Stewart's family, he suffered serious head injuries during the attack and remains hospitalised in France.

The page says Stewart is showing "early signs of recovery" and that money raised will go towards "medical bills" and "mortgage payments".
Stewart's brother Duncan Gray wrote: "The family are overwhelmed by your support. We thank you for each and every one of the donations."

Police officers detained the citizen of Ukraine in Lille, where now runs the European football Championship. Spokeswoman of the Department of Consular Service of the MFA of Ukraine Oresta Starak said this to 112.ua.

Police arrested the man from Ukraine during a raid in the framework of security measures during Euro 2016. He was in a car with Russian number plates, in which the officers found a large number of baseball bats. French law regards bats as a cold weapon.

According to preliminary information of the consulate, they arrested the Ukrainian. The court will determine the preventive measure for him.

There is also information that there was a woman in the car, also Ukraine’s citizen, but the consulate has not yet given an official confirmation.

Is the big romance over ?

English & Welsh fans fight each other on a train bound for Lille
According to the AFP and Ouest France, an incident of “serious violence” occurred on a train this afternoon from Calais bound for Lille as English and Welsh fans fought each other.

The incident is understood to have left several injured, with a handful of arrests made.

A dozen of supporters from both countries are understood to have fought each other in a carriage, according to security officer at the Lille Flandres station where the train arrived early this evening.

The same security officer indicated that several arrests were made upon the train’s arrival in Lille and that a specialised British “spotter” police officer notified the French authorities of the incident and was on the train at the time.

The security officer also affirms that the incident “was really very violent,” and that several individuals were injured.

Beginning to heat up in Lille. English fans out with flares and bangers and the police have charged at them allegedly. Some of them were goading the police as per.
