I miss it most if I have to wait on a train or bus, especially if I've been in the pub.

Was a pleasant way to kill the time.

I smoked about 5 when I was young as it was cool. Absolutely detested the taste and that's as far as I went.

Remember the days of when smoking was allowed everywhere. A night out meant you came home absolutely stinking. When you woke up in the morning after a late night out your clothes stunk your bedroom out with * reek. Looking back it's amazing how people actually put up with it and you where a whinger if you pointed out how smoking was bad in public places.

Some of the e-cigs smell amazing. I suppose they are the smoking equivalent of alcopops as they are so sweet.

    Smoke, smoked, still smoking.

Thankfully (like the poll here) society seems to be wising up to it. None of my bhoys smoke thank *. Mind you, watching me hocking up a lung on a Sunday morning is all the deterrent they need.

smoke when I am out on the booze after 2 or 3 pints and have the odd one on occasion when the mood takes me, I do not see the harm doing it on the very odd occasion, obviously if you can control it to a few now and again.

I remember my old football manager was giving me a lift home about 2004-05 who used to work at Hampden got called off Barry Ferguson to get a few of the squad some of that snuss (however you spell it) its like a tobacco resin which is folded under the lip as they weren't allowed to smoke during the camp I assume. Think it was popular with a players back then with the Scandinavian guys introducing them to it.

Smoke when I'm drinking, but never fancy one when I'm sober.

I guess that makes me a 'social smoker' as my dentist calls it.

:smiley-laughing002: Cheers. Not sure what it is, just don't feel the need to have one when I'm sober. Then three pints in I start craving one :97:

I dont mind a regular smoker, but you part time * do my lungs in.

people who smoke all the time are considerate about non smokers , you part timers dont give a *, your like Sunday drivers , annoying every * road user that drives every day.

Good luck to all who trying to give up, i have been of them 6years now

To answer the question of the OP as well, nah. I went through a stage when I was at school thinking I was a mad * but gave up quite quick. My old man smoked for about 40 odd year and gave up 10 year ago. A lot of respect for those who have been going that long and manage to go without any.

I never started smoking everyday until I was about 20, before that I would just have a few while having a drink at the weekend. * hate it.

Found out that my wee sis has started having a smoke while she is out drinking recently aswell, hate to see it man considering how much she used to hate even the smell of smoke :31:

Remember at the science centre they used to have a healthy lung and a smokers lung and you could pump air into them to see how well they both worked?
