Smoking

Smoked for 20+ years and started using E-Cigs around 2 month ago which coincided with me getting ill and back and fore from doctors and the hospital.They done all sorts of tests and couldn't find what was up with me.I started thinking it might be the vaping that was making me ill so stopped it a couple of weeks back and I'm feeling myself again.Don't trust the E-Cigs one iota,there's been no scientific tests done on the effects they have on you and I'm 95% sure it was making me ill.Back on the cigarettes but not heavy like i used to be,4-5 a day.

 

Never understood the appeal of smoking, stinks like *, turns yer fingers yellow, one of the worst things for your health.

My Dad has smoked about 30 a day for decades, he coughs like * all the time. Glad it's a lot less fashionable now than it was when he was my age.

 

I've never vaped but when I gave up smoking I got hit with the flu and ear/eye infections every other week for a while. Think your immune system is probably a bit vulnerable for a while after you quit.

 

The * you cough up every day as a smoker is gunk your body produces to protect your lungs, so when you stop, you start to slowly get rid of it, and i think your lungs are vulnerable....so more liable to infections etc.

After a year or so off them, the gunk has gone (unless you catch a cold or something)and you can actually breathe again.

 

Luckily i have never smoked,good luck to anyone trying to quit,try your hardest and do it!

 

Smoked about 5 cigs last weekend and had one an hour ago.

Don't know why not even been drinking or anything.

Slippery slope

 

I bought a 10 deck of L&B when I was 15, due to peer pressure. Smoked about 3 cigs from it until my mate told me to stop being a * idiot. Threw them in the bin and have never smoked since.

 

What do you do ? Stick it up yer *? Nah u smoke it, therefore you smoke

 

Nah don't smoke, never will. I've studied the effects of it in uni and would never touch the things.

Still smoke and others should start smoking too.

 

Find a way mate. Target 100 days without one touching your lips or whatever little other targets you might use yourself. Give yourself something for achieving it, a new TV or book a holiday.

 

Half of me wants to smoke again for some reason haha I did enjoy it.

 

Used to smoke but train quite a lot so it didn't make sense. Smokers are in general better people than non smokers though, friendlier.

Really hate it. Tried it of course but always hated the smell of it and vividly remember every Saturday morning before Italian football highlights, throwing 1 or 2 ashtrays full in the bin..
