From the noises he makes, he instills confidence that our problem areas will be addressed. Big achievement to make the CL.

Great achievement for Rodgers after such a short period of time. First mission accomplished. Now he can get to work on putting the Huns in their place.

Not complaining but did anyone understand the dembele for griff substitution? Looked like a complete waste of a sub to me.

Starting Janko and leaving him on for the 90 minutes was puzzling to say the least.

I thought it was a mistake....under the cosh and them two up front could have eased the pressure.
there were others he should have taken off.
I think tonight BR got lucky.

I think there was a bit of luck involved, but Erik coming on was a good sub.

Starting Janko and McGregor was fkn lunacy and both contributed very much to what was wrong with our team tonight.

Also, he either has to sack the stupid fullback in the centre * or kick the arses of them if they are doing it themselves.

We were just punting the ball up at every opportunity. I thought it was so atleast Dembele could win some headers and flicks ons which he did quite alot. Especially from the long kicks of Gordon.

I guess Rodgers thinks that the ball is going to stick much better with Dembele upfront rather than Griffiths.

A PROUD Brendan Rodgers was delighted for everyone involved in Celtic Football Club after the Hoops reached the UEFA Champions League group stages for the first time in three seasons.
The Bhoys edged a tense and nail-biting play-off 5-4 against Hapoel Be’er Sheva to earn the right to play the cream of the continent.
Leading 5-2 from the first-leg in Glasgow, Celtic were in a commanding position but they endured a nervy night in the return leg as the Israeli champions found the net in either half to leave them within one goal of turning the tie around.
However, the Hoops showed spirit and resilience to hold firm in the closing stages and there were euphoric celebrations at the full-time whistle among the players, backroom staff and travelling support.
It was a result that meant so much to the club and the manager admitted it had been a test of endurance as he watched on anxiously from the sidelines.
Speaking after the game, Brendan Rodgers said: “I feel brilliant. It was probably the longest 90 minutes I’ve faced as a coach.
“From past experiences the players have had, sometimes you never know how it can map out in the game.
“I felt Be’er Sheva were outstanding. They had to force the game of course as they had nothing to lose but they played very well.
“I have to congratulate my players. All the work we have been doing over the course of pre-season has been around that mentality and quality of our game.
"But we know we can’t always play well. A lot of the games we have played well but tonight was going to be purely about resilience and persistence.
"It was an amazing effort by the players on the back of everything they have been through before, so a huge applause to them and I’m delighted they have got their rewards after a really long pre-season.
“I’m immensely proud, I’m so proud for the football club, firstly for Dermot, Peter and the board – it’s great for them as they stuck out their neck in the summer.
"The club has a really positive feel to it at the moment. This was always hopefully going to keep that forward momentum going and this was a huge step for us.
"I’m delighted for the players, for the work they have put in and the mentality and honesty they have shown, and they have got their rewards after a long pre-season.
“I’m delighted for my coaching staff and the team of people around us. They have had to work very hard, with not many days off, working and finding ways in which to improve the team in a short space of time.
"And obviously there are the supporters. It’s an incredible moment for them. They are going to back amongst Europe’s eilte – and it’s where Celtic belongs.”
The Scottish champions and the Celtic support can now look forward with excitement to Thursday’s draw for the lucrative group phase where the manager doesn’t expect to face such a nerve-racking night.
He said:“It certainly won’t be as bad as that I’m sure – but if you probably ask me in a few games then it might be worse!
“But this was different. There was so much riding on this qualification and it would be typical Celtic, from watching them over many years, that there would be be a 92nd goal and everyone is on their knees.

But it has really happened. We have qualified. It’s great for everyone and great for the nation, for Scotland it’s huge.”
