I tend to agree, tonight I will be playing on a better pitch at Glasgow green than that shambles last night.

Pitches do affect players, I switch from astroturf to indoor matches on shiny wood. its a completely different game.

 

I'd much rather see Armstrong in the team than Bitton or Brown. At least he brings energy and isn't playing utter *.

 

We could be managed by mourinho for all i care, we wouldnt be any better anyway. Squad is WEAK! Time for some major change or imma lose all hope ;(

 

Which suited them down to the ground, because we made the game more narrow. We should have been looking to stretch the game. We couldn't get the ball into Rogic's feet because it was far too congested.

 

He is, but that isn't much of an acheivement. My worry for for Armstrong & GMS is that they seem to have the same lack of mental strength that plagues the rest of the squad. I'm still haunted by Armstrong's performance v Ross County in the semi-final, atrocious doesn't even come close.

 

Unfortunately us fans have been saying this for about 3 seasons now..And every season nothing changes..same players same *..

 

Now he has had a chance to see our frailties I'm hoping we see a ruthless side of Rodgers. Tough decisions need to be made and we're not all going to be in agreement with those. I seriously hope he starts making these without further delay.

In my opinion a full-scale clear-out is required; anything less than wholesale changes and we'll see be subjected to more of these horror shows that this group of players serves up time and time again.

 

Thinking about it, Rodgers will have a few big named signings lined up but they will only sign if celtic qualify. Bit annoying but that's what you need when wanting a higher quality player. Champions league is a massive draw for players of a higher caliber.

 

Armstrong never got the chance behind the striker in the 4-2-3-1, if playing 4-3-3 he is suited perfect to playing as one of the 2 attackers in the 3.

Makes you wonder if it's that easy to spot the issue and the solution why Rodgers is being paid millions of pounds a year to do the job when the club could just appoint someone off this forum to do it instead :smiley-laughing002:

 

As in his starting position aye. Basically he was asked to play what Roberts should be doing, which is odd.

 

I think we could well see Rodgers turn to players who he has worked with before and trusts. Guys who we have been linked with like Caulker, Sinclair, Dyer, Brittain etc could well be signed before the next round as long as we get through I think. Guys who Rodgers has faith in- I would be suprised to see players who are unknown to Rodgers getting signed up.

 

In order to put his ideas across this should have been the first thing he done, we dont have a defensive midfielder who can play the way he wants too.

Managers can get it wrong sometimes, for me Rodgers did last night. In terms of team selection, subs, and the way we set up. Hence why we lost 1-0 to a part-time team. The game needed width, something we didn't provide. Funnily enough, when we did start getting to the byline and putting crosses into the box with Ciftci on the park, we looked a threat.

 

A complete revamp of the squad is needed, not just supposed tinkering

no positives to take from that game except that we are lucky we didn't lose a quick second. Take nothing away from Lincoln, they had their biggest ever game and got their best result they are ever going to get.

We know how good it feels to pull off a win against a big club... the night of the Barca game seems such a long time away so let those Imps enjoy their few weeks of headlines.

Glad i live in a Hun Free Zone.. pity all you lads turning up for work this week (and next).. actually it could be all * season. Nobody will let this chance pass and plenty on here would be ripping the pish if it were any other Scottish club..

How did he set up and did he try and change the shape/formation, when it was painfully not working?
