No question about we have more problems than Ambrose, but dropping him permanently wouldn't a bad move, let's be honest. I'm still in shock the fact he is still here, never mind playing Champions League Qualifiers. Surely Rodgers will have seen clips of previous games, and he should have known better than to trust Ambrose in a big game. Any manager that selects Ambrose is making a rod for their own back when he blunders in my opinion, because that is what you get from him, mistake after mistake, and they quite often tend to be costly. The decision to pick him was just plain baffling for me. We do have problems right through the team though, no doubt about it.

I have said before on this forum that after beating Barcelona on that great night, that was the signal to invest in making sure we qualify for the Champions League year-on-year. This was not done and we have lost good players and have not replaced them. Even if we qualify for this year's Champions League (hopefully) poor recruitment and lack of investment has hampered the team. It is also unfortunate that players will see first do we qualify this season and then make a decision to come to the club. Mental strength and players who feel attached to the club and its heritage is also important. Playing for Celtic brings responsibility to perform. I hope that this is a blimp and we can get it together.

:smiley-laughing002: That's a brilliant line. Another couple of his.

"Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes”.

Not sure I totally agree with him there seeing as he must've been one of the best tacticians the game has seen.

“Good managers make good sides. There’s no such thing as a side making a manager” Can't argue with that one.

I seem to recall Ronny Deila trying to play 4-3-3 with this group of players when he first arrived at the club. It didn't work then either. If Rodgers wants to stay true to his footballing philosophy then he is going to have to find wide players to play up front. Playing a shitebag like James Forrest or shoe horning Ryan Christie and Leigh Griffiths into positions that don't suit them is not the answer.

When you look back to lennons time with us, we had these central midfielders to choose from:
    Brown
    Ledley
    Kayal
    Ki
    Wanyama
    Mulgrew

    Now we have:
    Brown
    Bitton
    Allan
    Armstrong
    Johansen

How on earth are we expected to compete with a team like that?

Absolutely. Griffiths wide right again makes me weep.

Was Griffiths playing "wide right" though? I didn't see him out on the touchline.

He was on the right-hand side an attacking pair from what I saw, with him cutting in and looking to do damage from there.

We all wanted Ronny out so bad that we never really thought about the options available to the new manager.

Playing the likes of Armstrong, Ambrose, Forrest etc in ANY capacity is shambles.

Its quite troubling that "being a supporter" BR hasnt got the foresight to get shot of these guys, nevermind making proclamations that they have a "future" if they want it.

I mean whats changed really, same * different manager. Shoehorning players into positions they cant play, putting faith in liabilities and NEDS?

    * sake c'mon BR, get your * together.

Outwith Efe, how you can just highlight those 2 I'll never know, the etc part is the bit you need to elaborate. Those 2 weren't even on when we were getting taught a lesson by a team of plumbers, gardeners and cops. It runs a whole lot deeper than that.

Armstrong was one of our better player's when he came on, and we looked more threatening because of him..

No been a fan of his, but he is definitely one who is showing and trying 100% under the new regime..

I'm willing to cut him some slack, of which I've given him bundles, and see if he flourishes..

And there lies the problem... We have a squad full of complete dross... The best manager in the world could not get results with this lot..

It doesn't help though when you play Efe the worst defender at the club and your 40 goal a season striker on the wing and a kid that has done nothing to warrant the loan strikers role... Christie also, out of position...

So it's because we have some really average playes but Rodgers needs take some * too....sort it out Brendan and sharpish...

If that's the case then we will get relegated. I wouldn't say Linclon RI are better than any Scottish Premier team.

Last night was a bizarre game on a * awful pitch. So much so the ball was bouncing in what could only be described as defeating the laws of physics. (At least on a TV screen)

The ball was sticking, passes too short and too long against a bunch of organised public servants who are clearly experts in those conditions. We simply don't play competitive games in conditions like that.

As soon as I seen the first few passes, plumes of plastic beads from the pitch and a white ball turned black, I had a feeling it's be a weird one. I didn't quite expect a defeat but I'm more than confident Rodgers and this very poor squad will turn them over on a proper football pitch.

    * nonsense last night!

I missed the 1st friendly whilst on holiday, but what I saw this pre-season he looked for me our best player.

He was way off form last year, but I was always a fan of him signing.

I do believe he should come into the centre. Tbh, I want to see a bit more use of the likes of Armstrong, Allan, Henderson, Rogic and Ajer in the middle, rather than the usual suspects. If he wants to add experience, let it be a new player as the existing ones are no use for me.
