I really want him to be good but being honest I don't think he will get near the European achievements of Strachan/O'Neill. Hope I'm very wrong.

Well he's probably got a greater handicap then either of those had when they had good runs in Europe. The players we have now are nowhere near the levels of Larsson, Mjallby, Thompson, Nakamura etc.

That's good to know. Sounds like Brendan wants to establish a good understanding with Broony quickly and no doubt pick his brains to see where we go from here.

Not too concerned about new signings yet, I think it is more important to move on a lot of the deadwood first, though I think a new centre back is a must, as I think Ambrose and Boyata are for the chop.

I can't see it myself.Ambrose has to be a goner, quickly followed by Boyata.
In fact I would bet on it.

If Brendan keeps Ambrose he is a fool he's cost the past 2 mangers in big European games he should be first out the door

Ambrose didn't not cost Neil Lennon anything. We would have still lost that, badly. Neil Lennon cost Neil Lennon by putting Ambrose in the team days after the AFCON.

Also not sure where he cost Deila? No chance in that group, did well to get the 3 draws. And we were beaten by Inter after two Gordon mistakes, a fluke and a screamer.

Don't get me wrong, he's not good enough and is a bomb scare in any game as his confidence is well gone... but let's not talk *.

He hasn't met all the current players yet and said he won't until June 20th.
That's 11 days after the * transfer window opens.

Against Fenerbahce when he got a lovely assist for Fernandao's goal, then got beaten in the air by the same striker for the second goal.
