I can't see us enticing a manager of Rodgers' caliber and not financially backing him or him even taking the job without assurances that he would be financially backed.

I'm expecting a big spending summer. I just hope we get rid of the deadwood as that'll be the only thing stopping us bringing more players in. The squad is massively bloated.

Same, certainly need to offload a lot of players. I hope Brendan comes in and quickly figures out what he wants/needs from this squad and getting the deadwood to *.

Still every couple hours I look at this thread and the news and need to pinch myself. Superb signing, if we manage to pull one BIG name out the bag - Gerrard, Ibra sort of name (and obv older) it'd be unreal for the pulling power we have.

Can't wait to see who he starts bringing into the club.

If he's own comments are anything to go by we could offload a few players, hopefully for a tidy sum, probably loan out a bunch and then bring only 3-4 quality players.

Which with player sales and the assumption of a bigger budget for a bigger manager, I wouldn't be surprised to see if our spending hits £20mill, mostly funded by player sales mind you though.

    * knows who'd he would bring in for that total sum though, * excited either way.

Enjoyed that Crow, thanks. Gets the blood going for the coming season. The genuine happy and awestruck look on his face at times on the video are brill.

Hard to choose, but I think this is my favourite picture from yesterday.

Almost feels as though he's sharing a moment with Tommy from above, as cliche as it sounds.

    Well, Trevor Sinclair likes him

Sinclair predicted that Rodgers will achieve 'phenomenal things' at Celtic - but only if he gets his recruitment right, having had problems in the transfer market at Liverpool.

"I think for me, looking at what he did at Liverpool, especially when they nearly won the league...tactically, he's as close to Pep Guardiola in British managers as there is - I think he's that good," said Sinclair. "If he goes up there and gets the recruitment right at Celtic, I think he could achieve phenomenal things," he added.

Ooft. Getting emotional watching that. :52:

I have really missed feeling optimistic about my club. The last three seasons have been a bit of a drag in all honesty. It's so good to have the buzz back again. Can't wait for the new season to start.
