I agree that striker and left wing are a must..

Who would be your 5/6 apart from Cole, Scepovic, Ciftci, Izzy and Forrest as well, all of which are finished here and want away? That's 5 who are certain goners..

    I'd say
    Gms
    Efe
    Commons
    Reckon Allan might go
    CKR

Can see none of them fitting in Rodgers plan's and to an extent, Stokes still..

The best part for me was his preference for a small, tight knit squad.

Feels like we've had a huge bloated squad for about 15 years :smiley-laughing002:

Allan has never had a chance plus he would be decent in a team that plays football

smaller squad means more money, better contracts we can offer players.

Brendan came across very calm, cool and collective.
No saleman's talk like we got with the last manager. He knows the drill, and I think every player in the squad will be given a fair crack of the whip under him, including Scott Allan.
They will all be out to make their mark under the new manager.

Hopefully we can clear out a good 4 or 5 players pretty sharpish who maybe have clubs lined up already, then work on trimming the squad down from there.

It is promising how he emphasises focusing on youth, we have been too cavalier in the transfer market in recent years buying players, then not playing them or clearly they are not up to the standard required. I am sure that focusing more on youth or working with what we have is the most responsible strategy for us. I am hoping for maybe 3-4 quality signings, I am sure many pros would be wanting to work with a guy like Rodgers given his rep and philosophy so hopefully that is achievable for us.

I know but it's the position that is gonna be gutted first. Commons, Allan, Armstrong, Johansen, Christie. It's the kinda position he'll have in mind with a host of name's noted in his time. 5 in to 1, don't go..

Probably 1 or 2 I've missed out as well..

looks like fans have been moved from the main stand to the Jock Stein

Celtic didn't expect this many people to turn up.

It's as simple as that. A squad of bloated, * player's or a smaller tight knit squad of quality and the best academy kid's? Hmmmm, hard choice..

Was thinking that too mate, smaller squad with quality over quantity.

    I'd be looking to punt
    Efe
    Armstrong
    GMS
Johansen (I don't think he's needed and we'll get a decent sum for him)
    Cifti
    Allan

I'd be content if we kept Griffiths, CKR and Stokes and signed a new striker, but if we were to sign two decent strikers then I'm not pushed on Stokes. Easier said than done though.

Our midfield is way too bloated at the moment and for me GMS and Armstrong are just not good enough to play for us on a weekly basis. They are two players who I genuinely wouldn't mind as back up players if we didn't already have so many midfielders, but as far as I am concerned I am happy enough to go with the younger ones like Christie, Henderson and Ajer as back up/challenging for places. Those three with Bitton, Brown and McGregor is more than enough for that area I think.

I'm unsure on Commons, think he might still be a valuable player in a bit-part role, as in only starting the odd game but coming off the bench regularly. It really depends on his attitude and what Rodgers makes of him though.

What time is whatever's happening in the stadium happening? Is there any way to view it its it finished already?
