Mulgrew Sviatchenko Lustig would be a cracking back 3 actually. Of course the success of this rests on similarly cracking wingers :87:

I would have much the same but bring in Leon Britton on a free if we get Rodgers he help implement his passing game quicker. However I see alot of potential in McGregor under Rodgers...if it happens..

I don't think Britton is needed.

We have a good few ball players in there who would be more than capable of taking on his style, McGregor as you say is at the forefront.

He has really propelled to the front of my 'must start' queue.

Just realised I left out Johansen who I wouldn't actually mind keeping, to be honest. It's difficult. I don't know if some players' form this season was just a complete fluke or not.

Obviously we all have opinions but they are so * diverse on this forum. I love it because it keeps it entertaining but there is like a small handful of players we all see as class. To be fair we have had dreadful back lines and I think our back line is looking grand now if we can keep Mulgrew and get Jozo back fit. The real dilemma is getting our midfield condensed and having real quality among it.

Get Brendan in and get some quality signings. Though I think we have great faith in our youth

    3-5-2 Under Rodgers
    Gordon
    Lustig Sviatchenko Mulgrew?/Tierney
Roberts Brown New CDM Johnny Russell
    Rogic
    Griffiths Kramaric

Bench: Cummings, Commons, Armstrong, Christie, New Winger, New CB, Barry Douglas/Stephen Hendrie, New GK.

Need cover at both fullback positions, new CB if not 2, clear out of the midfield and any outdated young players who arent gonna make it. New GK, new winger, high quality striker(s). Some will cringe at me having Jason Cummings on the bench but he scores goals in crucial games, consistently. Also had attitude and swagger that we need to put Rangers back in the ground.

The last sentence summed up my take for the most part. We have the quality at the youth level, but we need to clear out the crap that we have in the first team and give Brendan the coin to buy 4-5 good quality players.

Looking more and more likely that Brendan is getting the job,Which players will do well with his style of play and who will need punted?I think McGregor can become an important player and I think Roberts will be brilliant.

I was watching this interview with Rodgers from when he first took over at Liverpool, and at one point he talks about how Allen was so important (even when played in a less familiar role) "Because he knows how I work".

Made me think, If he was to become our manager, he could end up looking to bring in one or two players he trusts.

Who has he managed in the past that would improve us, be willing to come and affordable?

Had a look at his Championship/Prem Swansea sides and the realistic players who I remember performing for him was guys like Scott Sinclair, Nathan Dyer, Angel Rangel, Danny Graham, Leon Britton, Michel Vorm (who he also talks about being very important)

Thought Britton was a class wee player when I noticed him for the first time in the play offs, but as with the rest of them, none seem to have progressed since.

Borini was another that looked great in the play offs, then struggled, and was doing well for Sunderland at the end there. He's one of three players Rodgers had at both Swansea and Liverpool. Borini, Allen, Caulker.

Would imagine Caulker would be up for grabs, looked a player at one point.

If DD is having a mid life crisis and throwing money aboot I'll take Allen, Borini, Sigurdsson and maybe a maverick like Markovic. *' silly season, canny whack it. :icon_mrgreen:

    Borini is rank rotten.

I'd take Caulker though all day long. Wouldn't happen though.

Sigurdsson to Celtic would be our signing of the decade. Imagine that...

Reckon he would cost a bulk of the 15 million Rodgers has to spend (incl wages)...highly unlikely.
