Let's not kid on that Lennon was a fantastic manager here. He won trophies (as he should have done) and had a couple of fantastic results - but he was far from perfect.

Brown, Commons, Stokes are players we need to be moving on from, not going back to. Stokes in particular, shouldn't be Celtic quality and he isn't. Even now.

Going into the qualifiers with a front 2 of Stokes and Griffiths sounds awful.

Lennon was nowhere near perfect, but people forget that this was also his first managerial job. He had to take apart the squad that was left by Mowbray and totally rebuild, at a time when the filth still had Smith as their manager and were still in their EBT phase.

There is night and day between Lennon and Deila, when it comes to tactics and performing in big game situations. No question who I'd rather have here right now.

I'll take beating Barca and going to the last 16, scoring goals in the Champions League, playing good football every day of the week. Lenny's period in charge is one of my favourites at the club.

It's the best options that's on our books at the moment, or would you rather play Cole and Ciftci?

No manager is perfect. Lennon's record at Celtic stands up against Strachan and O'Neil, who were the most successful in my lifetime.

    Griffiths
    New Striker/Roberts

If we have a new manager I'd fancy he'd go two up top in league games, and maybe a Diamond allows us to best use all our centre mids..
That's implying we sell Johansen and Bitton

    I'm with you there.

Lennon did a far better job than Deila, of that there is no doubt. But some of the results under Lennon were shocking as well. A few drubbings in Europe, his record at Hampden was * as well.

I'd rather have him than Deila but Lennon is not the man we should be going for now.

Even under Lenny the football wasn't great, come on now. We played well more often under him than we do now but it's not as if it was top class entertainment week in week out. And like I said, Lennon had some abysmal results as well.

No, I'd rather Stokes, Ciftci and Cole weren't here. We have better options than playing a 4312 with a front 3 of Commons, Stokes and Griffiths.

I absolutely * loved the football under Lenny, thought it was brilliant.

Like what? That front 3 has the most goals in it for me.

It was brilliant in spells. Still plenty of turgid performances.

I'd have Patrick Roberts on the pitch before Stokes got near it. Rogic as well.

Like I said, I * loved it. The majority of Lenny's time here I thought the football was brilliant.

I don't think either would outscore them. Fair enough though, like I said in the original post, Rogic would probably roatating with Commons. He is 33 odds now.

If Lennon was willing to come back, we should really not hesitate to make that happen.

He certainly didn't rule himself out on Sky when Tanner asked him. I'm certain he'd come back.

And I enjoyed the football under Lennon, too.

What did he say? As soon as that Rogic pen went over I left the pub.

I think he would come back but only under his own conditions, which would be a good thing if it was to happen.

I don't think there's any question Lennon would come back now.

Whether we like it or not, aside from his differences with Lawwell and Desmond, one of the main reasons Lenny left was the lack of Rangers and a title challenge.

The league next season is going to be the strongest it's been in 6/7 years (maybe longer), assuming Aberdeen and Hearts can keep their best players and add to their squads too. He would want to be a part of that.

He said something along the lines of 'I don't want to speak about it when it's someone else's job, which happened to me at Bolton. Celtic need to have a look at things in the summer though and I'm sure there'll be a lot of talk then.'

Said "you've put me on the spot" then was saying it's disrespectful to talk about it when Ronny is still here.

I think he'd come back in a heartbeat.

Yeah I agree.. that also makes me think that the board will look elsewhere. When Lennon got the job, he was promoted from Youth team manager (correct?) and so was 'just happy to be there' per se and so was a yes man to a certain extent. If he were to come back, he would have the 'leverage' if you like. The board would be uncomfortable in that situation.
