    Hm.

I'd say we do need quite a bit of a clearout. One of my worries with Lennon is he'd be reluctant to shift a few of the players who played under him who I feel are done. If he feels the squad doesn't need much altering he is also essentially saying he won't need a big budget, music to DD and PL's ears.

He's evidently crying out for the job and fair enough, however I don't think he'll get it.

Utter filth that target Lennon everywhere he goes. Current or previous managers of any other club would be allowed to sit privately and enjoy a night out. Lennon is different. It's a disgrace, and shames this country.

I'd worry for his safety if he was to return.

Can see you any potential manager coming out in the media saying this squad is useless?

Do you think it would also be wise for a potential manager to claim to need +£20 to spend on new players?

No however any potential manager wouldn't need to say anything regarding the squad until they got the job. Then they could decide what had to be done once they had assessed it first hand. He just seems to be coming out in the press an awful lot, seen countless articles from him already talking up the position and it's only been a few days since Ronny announced he was leaving.

I think he is wrong to say the squad doesn't need an overhaul. As well as the fringe players some of the main men as such I'd be quite happy to see go.

I understand your obviously a big fan of his and would love him back, as am I. However I'd rather we go for a different option this time.

If it comes to it I'd take him but not ahead of Moyes. Keane, yes.

I am just defensive of Lenny.

For me I would be happy with Lenny, Moyes, Rodgers or quite a few other managers. Lenny would be safer short term as he knows many of the players and is more familiar with the role than Moyes but in the long term I feel Moyes would be better.

I agree with you re Keane

Totally agree. Makes me wish I wasn't Scottish.

I understand the desire not to bow to the sort of mindless filth who dish out the abuse and I also understand that Neil loves Celtic. However if I am being completely honest, if I was in his shoes I would sit down and have a serious think about whether I really want to come back to this bigoted cesspit of a country. Is it really worth the hassle? I'm not sure I would feel it is. He's better off away from here.

One thing Lenny never bothered about was putting players on the bench who didn't feel were performing. Kayal was his go to guy, he replaced him due to his injuries etc. Sammy was regularly on the bench in the SPFL despite being a big Lenny favourite, Matthews was doing very well for him and he bought Lustig and had Matthews as mostly the back up, he'd drop Lustig for Matthews at times.

Hooper got benched and Stokes was the number 1 striker because he was outperforming around the time of Rennes.

Decisions like that I'd have no bother in trusting him to make. As it is, I don't think the likes of Commons and Broony are as finished as people are making out.

He * loves it with us though mate, he said that when he left us to play for Forest, Celtic is just a different level for him both as a club and a personal level. So he retired and came back as a coach.

It's the type of character he is, he won't back down from a fight and he won't let people stop him from doing what he loves. Which is why I'm quite baffled about some of the comments we've seen about him on here lately.

On the last part, I don't think they are finished either. However, what I do think is that they have now reached the stage where they should slowly be edged out the side more.

Commons has been already under Deila, but I'd expect the new manager to place him at the forefront of any plans and I'd be happy for that to happen. At least for the beginning of the new era.

Brown isn't finished either but I think he is beginning to lose the legs a little which is a worry as we all know it's a massive part of his game.

I'd like to think that if Lennon did come back it would be on renewed terms with the board, with bigger demands. He has it in him to do it.

Commons is getting older, he just needs used more sparingly. Something that hasn't happened properly under Ronny weither. Broony is 30 and has the manager publically declaring he's playing him when he isn't fit because he was rushed back. I don't have many worries that he'll be back on top once he is properly fit. People said the same thing when we were playing him with a * ankle and then again when we played him through his hip injury.

As it is, I don't think Lenny doesn't have the balls to drop guys he doesn't think are doin the job under him.

I know that and that is part of the reason I admire and love him so much. I don't think it would be for me though, I think there would eventually come a point where I'd just go '* this....I'm putting myself and my family first'.

I have no doubt that if Neil comes back here we'll see more of the trouble we saw last time he was here. It's * disgusting. It is also one of the reasons I have never wanted, and will never want, the zombies back. I don't give a * about competition or atmosphere, when I think of them I think about the way they've treated Neil Lennon since he arrived in this country 16 years ago. That's who and what they are.

    Brilliant post mate :50:

I think the older I get the more I'd do a runner as well. Doesn't and never will sit well with me though.

This is why I am disgusted with posters referring to hims as "coming back with his tail between his legs", "desperate for the job". I wonder how many of the other potential candidates would be happy to take the job if they were to get the same treatment as Lenny. We should be honoured to have a potential manager who holds us in such high esteem that he is willing to come back and suffer more abuse for the love of his team.
