Managers always like to go back to their old club for any talent they feel would improve. MON had to have Lenny. Lenny brought in Wilson. WGS I don't remember but when he left us he went back for a couple of our players. To me it would be only logical Ronnie would want if not someone from his old team then at least a player or 2 from his old league.

The one definite positive Ronnie might have given us was probably nullified by interference from above.

Usually a foreign manager does bring in people from the market he knows or country

    Jansen did it with Henrik
    Dr Jo with Lubo
even Advocat and LeGuen filled the huns team with dutch and french guys

I reckon he has no control over transfers and gets who Park and Lawwell decide he is getting, i also think Lawwell tried it with Lennon and thats the real reason Lennon left, an over bearing ego maniac of an accountant trying to play football manager

Im sure Lennon said freddie ljungberg was nothing to do with him

I think the final straw was Samaras. A player whose departure was going to have zero financial benefit to the club as a free agent. A player who wanted to stay and was willing to take a wage reduction and a player Lenny wanted to keep. I think shipping him was PLs way of showing Lenny who makes the decisions and was just one slap in the face too many.

Most managers make signings to benefit their new team WGS done it the other way around:smiley-laughing002:

Can still picture his sitter in Roy Keane's testimonial down at Old Trafford. Another ludicrous signing by us. I can vaguely remember us bringing him on for 3-4 minute cameos at the end of games to make sure he was over the threshold and would receive a SPL medal for his 'efforts'.

Telfer was an experienced player who was reasonably good for us, done a job.

Big Dion scored the winner in a Scottish Cup final and had a couple of solid games for us in defence.

No just no....you walked....it went * up and now knowing the epl will most likely not hand you another job for a good while, you want to come back and put up with everything you left to get away from.
Sorry lennon but you need some time away before i would want you back.

Pretty much. I think he hinted at that in his interview. 'Bolton, a club at the complete other end of the football spectrum', that tells me he regrets leaving here. He ended up at an * end club which he couldn't buy a win with.

I think having a brand new manager would be more exciting, no doubt, but Neil would still be a step up from Deila and is someone who knows the club inside out and can reach the expectations of supporters.

Are you thinking of Perrier-Doumbe? Dublin never scored a winner in a SC Final mate.

Scored the final goal in the "Jimmy Johnstone" Final.

Aye awright, might not have been the DECIDING goal, but he scored the goal that put the trophy firmly in our grasp.

    What a guy!

I think the trophy was already firmly in our grasp at 2-0 up against Dunfermline in the 90th minute :bbpd::icon_mrgreen:

With all respect Neil, you would wind up the other half of Glasgow which is fair enough. But asides from that I thought you wanted a new challenge and wanted to go from Glasgow for the sake of your family?

Don't come back. You are part of the past not the future.
