You could also look at how are stock has gone down since he left. Also relevant would be the profit he made as manager. Both he and PL know that while he was manager we made a lot of money.

I wouldn't imagine he would. However, he is out of a job, and having just had a pretty poor spell at Bolton, I can't imagine there will be many clubs banging on his door. He might be thinking he made a mistake leaving us. Who knows.

Go and look at the stats v Ronny, ffs, no, no, no, no. (in the Ronny thread).

I'd rather Mo Johnston take over than him come back.

Loved him as a player, but fkn awful manager.

The squad Lennon built, and European results he pulled off speaks volumes.

    He also gets it.

Great statistic that equate 4 games against Barca with 4 games against St. Mirren. If thats how you judge a manger then I see how you reached your conclusion

    Stop talking *.

He wasn't perfect but he's by no means awful.

You would rather have Judas as manager than have Lennon coming back...

That is the most batshit insane thing I've ever read on here.

Lennon should be allowed to come back and run the football operation from top to bottom. He was made for the role, it's his * job!

Get Lawwell out and get a CEO who is just a CEO, let Lennon run the whole show.

Let's be brutally honest here. Lennon did a good job sure, but the majority of his reputation is based on a fluke result over Barcelona. That's the only reason why he's seen as a far better manager than Ronny. I mean beating Shaktar and Helsingborg? I'd expect a Ronny led Celtic team to beat those two teams, they'd probably both struggle in the SPFL.

I think people are rewriting history if they honestly think everything was rosey under Lennon.

Does beating Barca get you 10 points in the CL these days?

Was our first away CL victory away to Moscow another fluke. What about taking the lead away to Barca and only losing to a last minute goal. Has your man Ronnie any flukes that might compare to these.

The squad we had at the time was more than capable of beating Spartak. Besides it probably would have meant nothing had that Benfica player not missed a sitter from point-blank range at the Nou Camp. Fine margins eh?

Ronny's team this season has shown absolutely nothing to suggest they would be capable of beating Karagandy or Helsingborg in a high pressure game.

Nothing flukey about the Barca result. We were actually unlucky not to take four points off them.

you'd back ronny lead teams to beat spartak away as well would you? or be within a baw hair of snating a draw at the nou camp and finishing with 10 points in a very tough cl group?

I personlly thin we'd get humped in the cl under ronny. we got humped in the qualifiers ffs.

Remember though, the board are also partly to blame for the state we are in. Yes Lenny did have some fantastic results in Europe but compare that team to the one we have now.

How many players from this current team would get in the team that beat Barca or Spartak away?

No, our current squad do not have the capabilities to beat a team like Spartak Moscow. That's what losing a 12 million goalkeeper, a 12 million midfielder in Wanyama, Joe Ledley, a great all-round striker in Hooper, a great CB in Wilson and of course Sammy our european enigma, will do your team. If Ronny had all those players at his disposal then I think we'd have a far better chance.
