For me, he made it crystal clear he wants to come back when Tanner put it to him and he was polite enough to palm it away amidst claims of being disrespectful to the incumbent etc, but my hunch is it would be a bad idea.

It is only a hunch based on nothing more than having seen it happen so many times before and backfire. ie. trying to recreate past glories. Look at Mourinho, Howard Kendall, Billy McNeil off the top of my head.

Of course i may well be wrong, but i dont like seeing legends tempt fate......and for the same reason i dont want Larsson anywhere near it.

Cut to the chase and open the * safe and get Moyes in.

I wouldn't say no to either.

Only one of them as manager though :fear:

    This is a wasted debate.

I love Lennon, and he did a very good job on balance, but it would be a complete lack of imagination to appoint him 2 years after he left. It won't, nor should it happen.

There are plenty of managers out there who are better than Deila, and are attainable.

No wonder the board do things on the cheap when some fans believe that we can only attract from a small range or limited market, whether its in terms of recruiting players or appointing managers.

Why should we shy away from appointing a man who did a cracking job as manager here and who also happens to be a Celtic fan and, dare I say, a Celtic legend?

Seems to me like a smart move to bring the man home.

If we were linked with any other manager who had won multiple league titles and had CL experience and a few big scalps under his arm we would be screaming to snap him up.

It's strange why so many see Neil as a backward step.

The man gave us CL football and multi million pound players galore.

    It's a no brainer.

Exactly. We should have never let him leave in the first place.

    I would take Lennon back.

I wasn't overly upset when he left as I didn't think he stood up to the board the way we needed.

Obviously I didn't count on us bringing in a yes man right enough

At the risk of getting pelters from people on here...

I think Lennon is our only option...he knows the club and the club knows what they are gonne get by appointing him.

We are not as big a pull as we used to be, if we wer then we wudnt have had * Ronny Deila as manager!!

Bringing in someone from the continent will be a big gamble and with the rotten mob back in the league next year i dont think the board will wanna gamble in the same way they obviously did when appointing Ronny.

Neil Lennon as manager is a safe bet and makes perfect sense to me.

That's true, where Fulham ended up was an inevitability.
