55 miles, Glasgow to Edinburgh in September.

Right now I canny walk the length of myself.

I needed a goal though so I signed up with an aquaintance of family of mine from Ireland who is now living in glasgow.

Been shooting the breeze on fb with him for a while now so i thought I would dive in, he's a veteran of these jaunts and he said he would come over and keep pushing me on.

It's going to be * tough but at least now I have something to aim for and that will spur me on.

    In like * Flynn.

Cycling is hard work mate. Well done for taking the challenge and get training. Not on the bikes at the gym need to practice on a decent bike.

My bhoy has an exercise bike gathering dust in his room so I'm going to ride the * out of that for a couple of weeks until I have the money to buy a bike outright.

If anybody has any tips for good bikes to buy fire them in here then I can trawl gumtree for a cheap one.

Beware of saboteurs. Some individuals threw tacks on the route last year, caused chaos. * knows why.

I actually never thought of that. I ticked the box for no fundraising because I don't know anybody. I forgot you reprobates on here could have donated.

Ah well. I've paid my fee so that will go to the charity, that's good enough for me.

My mate from Belfast cycles a lot. He gets discounted vouchers. I will give him a phone tomorrow and get back to you mate. He saves a few quid. I also have a decent bike you can borrow. I'm quite a big lad so if you around 6 ft it's yours to borrow.

    I'm about 6ft in circumference.

I appreciate the offer though mate. I'm going to be needing a bike for over 6 months though, that's not borrowing that's theft. :smiley-laughing002:

In all honesty though, thanks for the offer but i want to get my own bike, I won't be worrying about it bending under the weight then.
