RD on @patrick7roberts "An exceptional talent. He's young & needs playing time in another environment as tough to break in at @MCFC "

RD: "We've had players from there before who have done well. A credit to us that City trust us to develop these players further."

RD: "He's quick, sharp and can see a pass. He's a technical player who can excite the fans."

He says that all the time.

Sviatchenko wouldn't have played the other day if Efe wasn't sent off.
I don't think he wants us to get too excited for a debut for his signings.

I'd like to see what he can do personally, even if he gives him 45 minutes.

Does he play on the left or right?

On the right, he's left footed though and likes to cut inside and dribble through the middle for a shot at goal, by the looks of it.

    * sake, so need a left winger because we have a variety of options on the right, so we sign another right winger?

    Clever.

If Roberts breaks into the team, there's nothing to suggest that Mackay-Steven can't go totge left side......infact, I'd be more unclined to play him there since he's shown recently a more willing to track back and get stuck in - moreso than Armstrong.

GMS is far better on the right, anytime he's been played on the left he's looked bereft of ideas for me. He's also far too inconsistent to be relied upon consistently. You just take Mackay-Stevens good times when they come.

Granted, but like most wingers (imo) they're either hot and cold, so while Mackay-Steven is showing form, I'd have him on, no bother!

GMS isn't the same player on the left at all, he's proven that in previous stints there.

Which brings me back to the original point really. We need a left winger.

I don't disagree, but we do have at least.....what.....5 players who are capable of playing there?

Nowadays barely any wide players can play on the side that is their strongest foot left-foot on the left or right on the right as players are naturally more comfortable as cutting inside players on their strongest foot, so play better on the opposite side where it's easier.

Probably because now most full-backs are fast players who teams use for attacking where as 10/15+ year ago and before full-backs were mostly still defenders so having pace wasn't that important to them and wingers could beat full-backs for pace, now that some full-backs are even quicker than wide players then they cant just run down the outside of them.
