According to this poll, more people wanted Moyes than Rodgers, which I'm surprised at.

If it is indeed Rodgers then perhaps the board had planned in advance to replace Ronny with a higher quality of manager when Sevco arrived. Although, there is no guarantee a high caliber manager would of been available or interested. If they have been purposely saving cash in the long term interest of the club in recent years then it's a shrewd and clever approach. Perhaps they're simply responding to the fans general disdain of the board recently. And of course perhaps it's all just speculation and they'll appoint someone like Bobby Williamson.

Typical of Celtic to keep us all waiting. The interviews could have been done weeks ago. Ronny said he was leaving, Rodgers was out of work, Moyes was out of work, Malky, Lennon, etc, all out of work. It wouldnt have been disrespectful to Ronny, he knew he was gone and knew they had to get someone ffs. They didnt need to announce it til after Ronnys last game. I think whats making this more unbearable is the fact that we have more big name possibilities than ever before who seem interested, yet every one of us has the fear that Celtic are gonna kick us in the balls again and appoint a cheap option. I would love to stay off this site and just be patient, but every half hour i have a need to check, just in case.

Of course the Board could go for the cheap option, that's fine if they don't want to sell season tickets or have a chance at qualifying for the CL, crowds could be reduced even further.

I'd be very surprised if this was the case.

Imagine you were Lawwell or Desmond, if I knew it was Rodgers i'd be tempted to wind the fans right up by doing an Interview and say something like "we are happy to have interviewed various candidates especially Malky Mackay and Owen Coyle who are top class managers, we will be speaking and negotiating further and hope to have the new manager announced soon" just to see the meltdown then come swaggering out the doors of Celtic Park with Rodgers the next morning for photos at the front door :56:

    This.

If they fail to appoint him or he turns us down, the fans will be saying why the * have they not had anyone else lined up as back up/contacted Rodgers sooner. As been said, they've known for weeks. Would be mismanagement like * and the straw that breaks the camels back in terms of the fans feelings towards an already under pressure board.

To be completely honest, even though the prospect of Rodgers has me excited cause I always love when we bring in a manager who wants to play expansive football, I do have slight doubts about him.

I think it's maybe to do with the fact that last 2 managers who came in and promised that weren't successes, and of course Mowbray was a complete failure. I know Brendan has pedigree, and maybe I'd have these doubts with any manager, but I'm not sure he's quite as amazing as the excitement would suggest.
