I think that's nonsense to be fair, the amount that was bandied about at the time was a £7 million payoff when he left, which isn't conditional on him staying out of football.

If we end up with Mackay im done with Celtic, im 99% sure though that the board arent that stupid. Keane will take a lot of winning me around. I just dont think he would be a good choice, it would nearly be an insult to our intelligence. I can live with Lennon or Lambert. Moyes or Rodgers would be amazing, I would ecstatic with either. A left field appointment (sorry superswede :icon_mrgreen:) i.e mamic or Lopetegui would be interesting.

That statement doesn't half distance our self from Rodgers.

How hard can it be to sell Celtic ?
They'll be most likely worshipped, by a * massive fan base. Bigger than most clubs, will be paid millions per year. Compete in at least 4 games with the zombies, which no matter how much you hate it, is 4 massive games. And get a stab at Europe.
We sell oursef far too short at times.

Still can't believe how * long it's taking.

Heard quite a few people last night questioning whether Brendan Rodgers wants the #Celtic job. He does.

That story is made up * by the daily record who are a bunch of jokers, he might have to negotiate a deal with Liverpool though no one is 100% sure. He would not even entertain an interview with us if that was the case, no one is going to walk away from that sort of money, especially in football management where nothing is guaranteed, look how many managers got sacked in England last season, it is a fickle business.

Is this a journalist saying this? Or someone who claims to be in the know?

Tell you something, that wee pre-season tournament with Barca, inter and Leicester isn't a half bad selling tool to the new boss. How's that for high-profile. Cut your teeth against the champs..and Inter.

If Rogers actually wants the job then its down to the cash. We can't match what Liverpool paid him, so hopefully its just a case of him agreeing a reduced severance with them, so he is effectively on a par with what he used to get. I could see us doing £40k for him, given the potential he brings - increased ST sales etc.

Hopefully that's the hang up and the board are buying him time to talk to Liver

if that happens and Lawwell claimed he was the best candidate for the job then he is finally caught out as a * Liar, Lennon would be a better option to him
