Exactly that. Annoyed me last week when lawwell said we spend 10mill a year, when clearly we don't spend that. Not net spend anyway. We always come out of transfer windows with more money than we had to begin with.

Apologies. Checked again and you're right. It's basic £3.25 - £60k pw. Bonuses took it up to £5m. Principle still holds. Think might be gambling on CL to pay bonuses, to make it attractive to him.

Poor old Jim White, announced the deady bears going into administration, announced the signing of Robbie Keane, and now the poor * has to announce Rodgers being in talks with us :56:

I'm not going to get my hopes up though. Would be excellent though.

Usually spot on. This is what was reported everywhere too: £3.25m (about £62k a week).

Bearing in mind he was Swansea manager and they don't pay high salaries - Laudrup was eaning less than Fat Sally remember. So, I imagine Rodgers didn't have a high starting point in negotiations. Just because you get the gig at a bigger club, doesn't mean they'll just give you 6x your previous salary because they're richer or bigger - thats financially stupid.

Moyes didn't get what Fergie got. Ancelotti isn't being paid what Guardiola was paid at Bayern. Conte will be paid less than Mourhino at Chelsea.

This would be massive, a sure sign of intent - put the Sevco to shame. They were creaming their knickers at a baldy * who was sacked from Bradford or Brentford, naw sure - but a wee diddy team none the less. And we are on the cusp of appointing a top quality EPL manager, the former Liverpool manager nonetheless.

This will be my MON moment - was too young to experience it. :35:

    My opinion dozen't matter :smiley-laughing002:
It's what right for Celtic. And Celtic is right for Rodgers.
Will make Rodgers the big cheese in Ireland with the Celtic support there too.
    Rodgers has my blessing.

Seriously, we're in talks with Brendan Rodgers and folk are talking about the Huns and Warburton?

Who gives a * what they're doing? They're a smaller club than us, so leave them to it.

Wonder who leaked the story to the press? If we don't get Rodgers now the vast majority of the support wont be happy, especially with a Malky or a Coyle

    Brendan Rodgers:

Celtic were my boyhood club, with the likes of Danny McGrain and Tommy.

“Tommy was a hero, a great man and a friend of mine. He was a special man and saw something in me early on. I’ve been lucky to work with some of the world’s top bosses but I got a lot of human qualities from Tommy.

“He had time for everyone and made me see you can be a good guy and a good coach. We’d talk for hours. When I was at Chelsea I’d visit him."

“I last saw him in August 2007. He took ill the next February and before I knew it he’d died, * bless him.

“At his funeral you saw the respect he had from all sides.

“He was a wonderful football guy but an even better person. Tommy twists, Tommy turns, Tommy Burns.

“It’s a tough job managing Celtic although all my family would love to see me there in the future. Martin O’Neill and Lenny would have walked to be in charge there and I’m no different.”

Celtic probably leaked it. Season ticket renewal and Rangers after some half decent players.

Don't think they would if they weren't confident in getting him though.
