    Sky Sports understands former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is holding further talks with Celtic over their managerial vacancy.

    It is believed the Northern Irishman, who discussed the position with the club's hierarchy last week, is now the No 1 candidate for the post.

    Rodgers has been out of work since October last year when he was replaced in the Anfield hotseat by Jurgen Klopp.

    It is understood former Watford, Cardiff and Wigan boss Malky Mackay - who played for Celtic during the 1990s - has also been interviewed for the position following Ronny Deila's departure.

    Good point the transfer committee gave him the likes of Balotelli, Lovren, etc when he wanted players like Remy and Williams to add experience. Also not convinced Benteke was a signing he wanted either.

    I do think we have some players that he can work with initially but definitely another 3/4 would be needed if we want to have a real chance of qualifying.
