I guess he's meaning the last time we signed a manager who had some relative success with a respectable team.

I'd probably say it was MON, the last time we signed a manager who had such success, Leicester may not of been world beaters like they are now :56:, but they were certainly a decent side when he was in charge.

I'm hearing conflicting stories. Don't want to say too much about his brother, but there are people putting a lot of money on him after news coming out of Ireland.

Malky Mackay is favourite for the Notts County job kind of shows his limits when he's linked to sides in league 2

I'm sure he's a decent bloke, but i'd rather have Rodgers himself than his brother :icon_mrgreen:

If he's linked to that job at the same time as he is linked to ours what does that show though !?

Rodgers really along with Moyes is the absolute pinnacle of calibre manager's we could attract..

I'd be delighted with Rodgers. We all would..

Getting quite excited by the prospect, although Moyes was my number 1 choice..

Stop it. You're making me start to hope. :54:

It's been reported that Dermot Desmond is conducting the search for a new manager himself and Desmond does like there to be an Irish connection at Celtic. Rodgers would fit that criteria.

I just can't let myself start believing it could happen. The let down when we appointed Stevie Clarke or Paul Lambert would be too much. It would be * awesome if we could get Rodgers though. He's the guy I want.

Well he wouldn't be wrong would he. Where you getting that from anyway?

    Your last point mate...

They're out of our boards league imo.

Will happily eat my words but I really think our expectations are too high, based on recent history.

I see the sunday post is running with Keane and a £15 million warchest. £15 million could buy you a EPL winning side these days.....

I'd be happy with a budget of that, but *, Keane had more than that at Sunderland and look how well that went :smiley-laughing002:

Mainly good players for a team like Sunderland as well, minus Chopra and Diouf.

    That's horrific reading.

I already don't want Keane and that has just convinced me more.
