    1. Lennon wants to be here, he's never came out with statements about our job being dull/monotonous/boring.

    2. He's been here and done it. Winning titles, cups, qualifying for the Champions League twice, Last 16 for out 2nd time and registering our first away win in the Champions League group stages.

    3. He took Mowbray's group of underperforming players and went on a winning streak. Something we may need as it's unlikely we'll be able to offload all of the players who haven't played at their best this season.

    4. I've never seen the club as united as it was under Lennon. Huddling and singing on the last league game when we had lost the league. Partly down the scum's intimidation campaign against him and the SFA's inconsistent punishment of him. Irrespective of that, we were together as one and with that sense of unity the sky is the limit for this club.

Lambert may have started his managerial career promisingly but that's ebbed out and he's indistinguishable from many of the other candidates in my eyes.

martin o neil, brendan rodgers, david moyes, roberto di matteo would all be dream appointments.the board should show a bit of ambition and actively pursue all 4 and hopefully we could get one.

Sounds like me doing my best to emulate Frank McAvennie at the weekend. Hopefully it doesn't end the same way and we wake up with a sore head the following morning with Owen Coyle as our manager.

Roberto DiMatteo doesn't deserve to be mentioned in amongst Moyes and Rodgers IMO whether he won the Champions League or not.

That was an anomaly, it wasn't his team and it's the only time he's done anything of note in management. He has a 50% win rate almost exclusively throughout all of his jobs in management; MK Dons, WBA, Chelsea, Schalke. Not good enough.

I'd be happier going back to Lenny than gambling with DiMatteo.

Agreed with Paul. Di Matteo may be a CL manager but there's a reason he's never getting linked with any half decent team in England or other top leagues.

Winning the CL was an absolute freak. They should never have won in the final.

Stop there and make that statement about Ronny and VVD/Denayer/Guidetti and the injures almost every other week to defenders. Loss of form from International players where some are Captain.

Can we apply the Jordon Rhodes not being Lamberts fault to Ronny as well..As both had the same thing happen.

    Just sayin..

Thats a ludicrous thing to say. He guided the club to a European Cup & you suggest he's not on a par with Rodgers & Moyes who have done the square root of F all on the European front. Never mind winning a trophy, any trophy, ever! On their way to that final Chelsea were 2-0 down & a man down (Terry sent off after 36mins) to Barcelona at the Nou Camp & managed to claw back for a 2-2 draw. That to me suggests the manager has some real tactical nous. He also won the FA cup that year & his time at Schalke, although not spectacular involved a notable 4-3 win against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. If as most people suggest we are a shoe in domestically we need a manager who can take us forward on the European front & Di Matteo is far more likely to do that than Moyes or Rodgers in my opinion.

Edit: and I'm guessing you never looked at Moyes & Rodgers win rate when you made that comment as he has a better one than both. So if his is not good enough then what does that make theirs?

Context - there's a reason Roberto DiMatteo has next to no reputation in England and beyond.

He'll be lucky to pick up a Championship job next.

What's the context for his higher win ratio then? & I'm almost certain he has a good reputation in England and beyond. Unless you class Chelsea and Shalke as back water clubs & a European Cup as insignificant.

Tommy Docherty was once asked what makes a great manager. He said," good players, crap players will get you sacked". I think theres a lot of truth in that. Would be great if when a manager goes all the players contracts were frozen and the club had the choice of whether to keep or get rid.

Initially I liked the idea of taking Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane but i don't think either of them couod cope with our budget as it is. It needs to be someone who can work with players and develop them because we can't go out and buy 4/5/6 million pound signings to replace duds every year.

It's actually 57% which is pretty good & easily trumps:
    Moyes @ Man Utd 53%
    Rodgers @ Liverpool 51%

& don't forget he was the man that guided them to be 'champions of Europe', & it's also an achievement that on the one hand you played down as a fluke earlier & now are talking the club up on the other.

Sometimes it's easier to stop digging. :50:

It could all depend on whether Stubbs wins the Scottish Cup & gets promoted if that happens he could be appointed which I really don't want the board need to make a statement & bring in someone like Rodgers or O'Neill I read that Swansea want Rodgers back makes you wonder why he would wanna go to a team where maybe getting a europa league spot is the best they could do I know they will have much bigger budget but surely coming to Celtic & win things with the chance of champions league football & I honestly think Rangers being back in the league could make a difference in managers making a decision although lots off people on here wont agree with that but its the truth.
