Moyes or Rodgers would be major coups for us. People are too quick to remember their last/only season at Man United and Liverpool. They are top managers that anybody outside the traditional top 4 in England would be happy and lucky to have.

Reports about Rodgers eh. Be pretty impressed if we pulled that off to be honest. Be happy with that.

Reckon there's still a long way to go yet though. Even once the title is wrapped up.

Moyes didn't do too well at Real Sociedad either. Would love to see Rodgers at Parkhead though

Aye but before both of them he finished top 8 with Everton for 7 season in a row. I think the Sociedad move was a bit of a silly and risky move. Knew nothing about the culture etc. Just as players from the UK except your Bales and Beckhams etc struggle abroad in general. Only thing is his style of play is dull but effective like Strachen.

Personally I would rather Rodgers as well because the football his Swansea team and his Liverpool team before they sold Suarez was brilliant.

Rodgers would be a very good appointment. I want Moyes-Lennon-Rodgers in that order but would be happy with any of them three.

Hope to * it's not moyes as he's a failed manager he's never been a good manager even the Everton fans will tell you this just need to look at his record poor tactics poor signings poor dull boring and definitely not entertaining attacking football he's been in the decline for years if he was that good he wouldn't be waiting to see what his options are big clubs would be coming in for him with offers he couldn't refuse he's not the right man for us has to be someone better wouldn't let this Hun anywhere near us as manager would take Lennon over him any day. My choice would be Keane he would be better suited to the Job than Davy boring moyes.

Lambert would fall into that middle category for me, alongside the likes of Clarke. Below Moyes and Rodgers but ahead of Keane, Coyle etc.

I'd take Lambert if the likelihood of Moyes and Rodgers not coming happens

He knows how to operate with a micro budget. (Lambert). Certainly kept Villa alive against the odds, but how does that translate to Celtic? He'd have the same challenge here of competing against far larger, richer teams, with the expectation of some success. He did ok at Villa, but nothing stupendous. Tricky. I love the guy, think he's got a bit of the MON's about him and was a true leader for Celtic. Suppose he did a good job with Norwich. Villa seems to have been a bit of a poisoned chalice for a lot of managers, a bit of a toxic environment so maybe not the best place to judge. Hmmmmmmmmm

Feel the same. He would be a reasonably safe appointment. Fans won't revolt against the board on that appointment (we should for other things mind you) and he will do a decent job here.
Though our ambitions should be higher than what is seen as a safe, average manager.

Of the names all mentioned so far Moyes and Rodgers are the only ones to excite me. I'd love for us to spend good money on either of those two then tell them to gut that entire team, and give the manager all money made from it. 9million to spend (see my post in the Clearout thread) in his first season and get us in to the CL proper. from January/2nd season start to actually improve and BUILD on the squad and club and INVEST money in to the playing squad, giving the manager 10-15million kitty based on the remit that he must get us to the CL proper and that is part of the money made from it (speculation). Any further Transfer sales should be split between adding to the managers funds and improving behind the scenes stuff be it stadium, training, youth, scouting etc.

This appointment needs to put arses back on seats at Parkhead and personally I don't think Lambert is the man to do that. The board really need to get this one right as a the renewal forms will be out soon.
