Trying to suggest that a refusal to work under Lawwell's ridiculous conditions is actually Keane saying that Celtic aren't good enough for him- despite the fact that he's actually said he'd love the manager's job- is a bit ridiculous in my opinion.

Given the obvious direction which the club has went in over the last few seasons do you blame Keane for refusing to work under such conditions?

I can accept that people might not want Keane as the next manager. They might not like him in the personality contest, but to imply that he's ever suggested that he's too good to be the Celtic manager or that his managerial credentials are significantly worse than any of the other candidates is wide of the mark.

What has Keane done to match Moyes?

He has only been in management for a relatively short period of time. But he took a Sunderland side who were languishing in the Championship relegation zone and went on to win the league and gain promotion. He's played his part in getting an average Ireland side some big results and gain qualification to an international tournament.

In his short managerial career he's had some success and he's had some failure- but who hasn't?

Martin O'Neill was manager of Ireland, not Keane. He's had far more failures than the likes of Moyes and far less success. How exactly does that match him?

And according to O'Neill he's been hugely beneficial, and has the credentials to be a great manager.

Has he really had far more failures than Moyes?

He's probably bound to have less success at this stage of his career than someone like Moyes because he's not been in the managerial game for as long!

And I don't think anybody has suggested that Keane has a flawless managerial record or that all the candidates have the exact same credentials, but merely that they're not too far apart all things considered.

We need to steady the ship and Moyes with Clarke would do that. Would they play worse football than we have this season? No. Would results be better? Yes.

    Either way, it's not happening.

It's going to be fascinating next couple of months. I hope we don't gamble again with an 'experiment'. We need a solid appointment. Someone strong enough to settle the side, with the balls to get into the players and someone who can utilise his players. Things we seriously lacked this season.

He'll have money to spend. We'll have a clear out and get more money to spend on top of his budget. I can see us spending £10m plus this summer in total knowing what is coming up next season, players leaving and with what position we currently are in.

The hardest part is getting the right man in and what players actually stay. Everyone should be fearing their future after this season. There's literally a handful of players who you can give pass marks to for the season.

To be fair, you don't spend a near decade at a premiership club if you're not a success there...

By the way, I wouldn't want Keane as manager. I wouldn't be against him as assistant though. I feel he has to have someone there to keep him in check. Moyes being manager with an assistant of Keane could be very interesting.

I'm not a fan of marrying the same woman twice. WGS and Lenny have given us tremendous success, but that lies in the past and we gotta move on with somebody new.

The provided list of choices isn't really fantastic, but that's the cold reality at the moment. out of the listed candidates I'd go for Rogers, even though an appointment is highly unlikely.

Need to stop looking at the bookies odds for clues.

Steve Clarke in from 16/1 to 3/1 overnight though. Now 2nd fave ahead of Lennon.

And despite disagreeing with you, I think you're certainly allowed to hold that belief.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I just think trying to use Keane's refusal to work under the ridiculous conditions imposed by the likes of Lawwell as a stick to beat him with is absurd. If anything it should be used as a plus point in his favour!

I've said it once and will say it again don't bring back Lennon, he's only been back in Glasgow for a show and was pelted with beer thrown by the pigs, bringing him back will only give the bigots an excuse to start that crap all over again.

Are you not thinking of Eric Cantona or Leigh Griffiths?
