It was Desmond that signed Keane as a player and also wanted him as manager.
Desmond is also a Cork man and in Cork Roy Keane is our most treasured sports man ever.

I like the thought off Keane. I believe he'd take no nonsense in regards to on and off the pitch. It's just how the players react to his style of management.
    He'd attract quality also...

Who did Keane have as his assistant at Sunderland and Ipswich?

Im not sure if its been mentioned and im not sure how he is getting on at Vasteras but should Mjallby be in with a shout?

Ive not stats to back it up but I remember a drop in performance (mainly defensively) by Lennons Celtic team after he left.

He left at the end of the season.

    So did Lenny.

    He announced it earlier though.

Ah, right, sure he went quite a good few months without ever appointing one.

Ditto, Strachan had his time here and would definitely be an unpopular appointment with a lot of fans. We need someone new.

I've been told that MON will be director of football.

How true this is I don't know.

I can just picture the scene, the mighty Nevin being serenaded through the London Road Car Park to the background of The Boys Of The Old Brigade :smiley-laughing002:

Quite a lot of people seem to be against Neil Lennon getting the Job, but appear to be overlooking the fact that he has experience managing us with Rangers in the league, and has also learned from his earlier mistakes in Europe by then taking us to the Group stage of the Champions League two years running.

He had some poor domestic results, but most of those were down to performing well in Europe. On top of that, I got the impression that Warburton + the media intimidated Deila - that certainly wouldn't be the case with Lennon.

Give him a large squad to compete domestically + in Europe and we'll do well.

Mapatma is too busy sorting out world peace in his quest to Sainthood to bother managing Celtic and listening to us Bigots signing sectarian songs

Not a big fan of directors of football but maybe mon could keep Keane under control since he is a nutter at times.
