Decent manager but he hasn't been in club management since 1989

I would take any one of Bielsa, Moyes or Rodgers. Would speak volumes of our ambition if we appointed one of them in my opinion.

Would love him here.the name alone would bring a lot of excitement back to the club.hes currently managing some Qatar club were hes won a trophy.nothing special on his manager cv but some good achievements including 2 Danish cups and a league with brondby.won the league cup with Swansea.got Getafe to a copa del rey final and uefa cup quarter final in one year there.think he would be great here and not beyond our capabilities to get him.

Laudrup with Wieghorst would be ideal for me.

My initial thoughts were good call. Then I remembered something around time of Laudrup's Swansea sacking. There were reports - too many to ignore - that he didn't impose discipline, there were cliques, didn't involve himself on daily training. So, no.

Mick McCarthy has done a great job at Ipswich.. surely he's worth a shout?

    1 - Lennon
    2 - Larsson
    3 - McCarthy

Can't say I've heard much about that. I know his initial success with Swansea tailed off in the end for whatever reason.

I think he'd give the club a boost. World class player in his day, has managed all across Europe with reasonable success, plays good football. Combine that with Wieghorst who knows what Celtic is all about...

Thought about this after calming down a bit after sunday. We do not need someone like MON and Keane right now, doubt MON would be heavily involved and I don't think a disciplinarian like Keane is suited to our squad just now.

Moyes I think will go to Villa, championship football is a better level than here , and many good managers operating in that league. Also would want a big budget

Larsson, big gamble and if we wanted to do it, should have done it after Lennon left.

That leaves Lennon, will do a job but I think he would be mad to take it, dealing with a board who shafted him and having to put it with the same * from they mutant * again.

Maybe will be someone like Caldwell if this board is is charge, i just hope Dermot will watch over this one, as I trust him to select a manager more so than Lawell

Would he fistpump after lethargic performances against Kilmarnock though?

Sure I heard a player mention that Alex Ferguson never took the training at Man Utd and he never done too bad.

Is that not why we hire coaches ?

As long as the manager is picking the team, tactics, his own signings and getting the players fired up for matches then it's fine.

The biggest problem with hiring a guy that likes to play a passing game is the squad of players we have. They struggle to pass a ball 5 yards when they have time on the ball, never mind trying to play quick passing in tight areas.

Lennon as he knows exactly what's required and he would have a strong position to demand from the board what they wouldn't give himlast time. The board are up against it to make the right decision here

I wouldn't be disappointed if we got McCarthy. He's a decent manager with a Celtic connection.

Decent enough shout but I think he's too old now and he'll probably not leave his job with Iceland. Basically a living legend for them.

What about Mark McGhee? He's done a stellar job turning Motherwell around, hasn't he? He also did a great job with them last time around.

He's surely as qualified as some of the more realistic names we're seeing mentioned?

Not a chance. Even the board know that's just too underwhelming.

    Do they? Really?

I'll come back to this post and ask you about underwhelming when we end up with John Hughes, Alan Stubbs or some no-name from Europe that no had thought about! :smiley-laughing002:

I could see us ending up with worse than McGhee so in a sense I would not be to unhappy
