Michael O'Neill would slightly underwhelming but I do have a feeling he could be good here.

Would rather a bigger name though, I really have my heart set on Moyes or Lennon. Someone to bring a genuine buzz back from the get go. Michael O'Neill wouldn't do that initially.

I find it strange that you would be dead against Michael O'Neil, a manager who has actually at least achieved something in the game, but would take Roy Keane. A guy who is only known purely for his reputation as a player.

As a manager he is useless.

Would some people really be buzzing by Moyes? Genuine question, because anybody I've spoke to in person about it is against the idea of Moyes coming in.

I would. Done an excellent job at Everton. Managed at the very top and has a wealth of experience. I don't doubt for a second that he could cut it at Celtic..

Most people I've spoken to about who they'd want have went the opposite and want him..

The exact details of that incident are a bit hazy to me but I remember thinking no Celtic player should have been off. Was it Van Dijk that was yeah?

To be honest I would take something like that with a pinch of salt, pundits do tend to say some ridiculous * when they are put on the spot like that.

Taking the Occupied Counties to the Euros is an achievement, but he did it in the single worst group ever in qualifying history, at a time when there was a record 23 spaces available in the tournament.

Keane did win promotion with Sunderland in fairness. Their managerial statistics are fairly similar, but Keane has worked at Sunderland, Ipswich and as number 2 to Martin O'Neill at Ireland- more impressive than Brechin City, Shamrock Rovers and a national team that shouldn't exist (not that I'm blaming Michael O'Neill for that :smiley-laughing002: )

What des it say about Malky and Stubbs that even Ronnie in the aftermath of yesterday still polls more votes :56:

Safe to say we must have at least 15 zombie stalkers signed up to the site then :50:

Aye Virgil was sent off for fuckall, he wanted Broony off and then another Celtic player? Can't remember who now but it was ridiculous the * he was coming out with..

I'd rather no have *'s like that here. Not sure he's the man to come in and demand respect from player's who've just let down there last boss. Moyes certainly would, without doubt..

Seconded. I would love to get Moyes in the door, and back him properly. For me he's about as much of a 'sure thing' as we could possibly get.

I used to be dead set against Keane as well but I would like to think he has learned something working with Martin O'Neill.

He did a good job initially at Sunderland although he spunked a lot of money on absolutele * when they got to the Premier League. His knowledge of players was literally restricted to players he had played with or knew through his Irish/United connections. Think he even signed a Celtic player.

I think he would have players running through brick walls for him but I simply couldn't trust him enough to spend any substantial amount of money on players. Would have mixed feelings if he were actually appointed.

A name that doesn't get mentioned much and I actually wouldn't mind is Mick McCarthy.

To be honest I'm not even that enamoured with the idea of Michael O'Neil either but my gut tells me he'd make a good Celtic manager. Nothing really to base that on mind:smiley-laughing002:

I don't want Keane. I think he makes a better number 2 than 1. He'd also want money as we all know and I wouldn't trust him with a decent budget. Could see him wasting it down south. If things start going badly as well then he's not the man you want.

Like PaulM mentioned as well, the hard man persona he has isn't enough for me to want him as a manager.

I don't want Deila's tenure to stop us from going abroad again either. Some of the names at the top of my list are foreigners. Murat Yakin, Michael Laudrup, Thomas Schaff and Marcelo Bielsa. All * pipe dreams though:smiley-laughing002:

Yep. I don't think he's a risk in the slightest..

We'd be solid, tactically better and he has good contacts. It's a complete no brainer with a guy whose last 3 job's were in the Epl and La liga. The experience he'll have gained, even if all didn't end swimmingly, will be invaluable to him and us..

I'm the same, I'd love Bielsa or Laudrup (who was my preferred choice when Ronny joined).

Owen Coyle would get us to the World Club Champiomship in Tokyo within 2 seasons, never mind the Champions League, shame on you for leaving him off that list :56:

Wasn't originally keen on Moyes but after the last 2 seasons would certainly be happy to take him, we need someone with a bit of experience and an understanding of Celtic and he fits the bill.

How would you feel about MON taking over after the Euros?

He wasn't given a fair shot at United I always thought, it was always going to be hard for anyone after Fergie left. He's done better than LVG with a 1/3 of LVGs budget.

I read an interview with a Swansea player that Laudrup never took training sessions he'd sit in his office while they all trained I personally prefer the manager to be a coach and be hands on would be well up for Bielsa though he would probably not come here would push the boat out for him.

There's no hope in * of Martin O'Neill leaving the Ireland job until after the next qualifiers.
