I think it is the type of appointment that could actually see us win the Europa. I realize it is a long shot but why in the * should we not at least try?

Why? This whole mess is a direct result of the error in boardroom bean counters interfering in the football side. Perhaps they have learned their lesson?

See, this is my thinking as well. The only reason Lennon would come back I feel, is because he has realised the grass isn't greener. I'm not sure I want somebody like that in charge. Who's to say he wouldn't be offski at the next opportunity? I personally don't think he will return, which is fair enough. He left because of the restrictions the board put in place. If he come back, he will do so with his tail between his legs, and that's not Lennon.

You aren't getting my point. If the board don't change their policy, why would Lennon return? Why work under the same restrictions which saw him leave in the first place?

This is on a similar line to the discussion with Big Gaffa in the other thread so I will reply to both of you on here. I am hoping that lessons will have been learned by the suits from the last few years. As much as I agree with both of you that this is of their own making I dont think they are stupid they must have learned lessons. Their own self preservation is dependent on it after all. The support is at near mutiny level and I would be surprised if they are not aware of this and I would be surprised if they try to hire another proxy to run the club through. The risk is too great for them and I would be surprised if they dont know that.

It's Neil Lennon mate, guy put his life on the line for us, if he was to come back it'd only be for the good of the club. He loves this club, there's no doubt about it.

And if he was to return, it would be on his terms. Not the boards I'd feel.

He fought them the first time round for what he wants, I don't doubt he'd do the same if he was to do so again.

I've listened to a game or two on the wireless. Mostly watch games from the pc in the house though as it's too expensive to go.

From what I see, which is quite a lot, we over-pass in midfield. Brown, Bitton or Johansen look up to find no options what so ever from guys like Rogic, an out of position Armstrong or Forrest who's went into hiding suffering from confidence after so many bouts of abuse from the fans.

The best option rather than giving the ball away is to keep it which means too many side-passes. If we had Carlton Cole up top, we'd fire long balls then with a little bit more hope of winning the second ball. I'd prefer not to go down that way of playing.

A better manager would see what isn't working whether it be the team selection or formation and change things around but not stubborn Ronnie.

With our options this season, we could have tried.......

    ...........Stokes.........Commons..........Griffiths

    ...........Armstrong......Brown.......Johansen

    Izaguirre...........Mulgrew...Ambrose........Lustig

I've seen nothing from any other defender to suggest they are better than Efe, Mulgrew is best there and Armstrong and Johansen would be in their true, better positions being protected by Brown. No need to two holding players.

Commons was our top scorer for a reasons and Griffiths and Stokes would certainly help him out being attackers rather than wingers.

It's Barca's formation and does them no harm.

I like that team but Griff and Commons swapped. * that false 9 * put Griff through the middle.

That system you have shown is quite good as it fixes our two biggest problems i.e. 3 in midfield to win the midfield battle and interplay up front to break down packed SPFL defenses.

I prefer a diamond but you are sacrificing width for solidity in the middle which is not a problem in Scotland as our full backs can get up with the additional defensive cover a diamond provides. Also in a diamond Stokes, Commons, and Griff would be closer together which is ideal.

    What did I start lol

Was talking about rafa's no.2 or tactical coach as tbh long shots to manage us never mind rafa .

On a serious note there is no chance that even his agent would answer the phone to say no.

Because Rafa turned down the Valencia job a couple of weeks back. They have very little financial restraints. We have a lot of financial restraints. Its pointless even talking about it because we couldnt afford a 3rd of his wages either

If he turned down that job he isnt going to come here is he? Should we also go for Mourinho as well since hes out of work? Should we have made an attempt to sign Guardiola when he announced he was leaving Bayern?

We should be trying for the very best available and not settling. Mourinho and Pep both have jobs waiting. Benitez doesn't. Look I dont think there's a chance we could get him but the man who is payed a million a year should * try anyway. Who knows maybe Rafa would want the challenge, maybe he wants to get back working with players and build something in the long term. Money is not going to be an incentive to lure someone like him, if he wants money he could head to Qutar. Maybe he would want the challenge of turning us into a respectable CL team. Again I dont think he have a chance of landing him but why not * try like?

It really doesn't matter who arrives as the new manager if Desmond and the rest of the Celtic board are still in place, the policy towards spending and directors dividends won't change.

The only way to get change is to rebel against the current board, yes it means starving them of season ticket money and not buying official mechandise, things which I know will meet with total opposition from certain sections of the Celtic support, I personally am totally fed up watching the demise of our great club.

Is Murat Yakin still without a job?

Didn't do so well with Spartak but still think he would be quality here.
