this might sound stupid, if the board decides ronny goes offer martin O'Neill the job for a hefty fee surely the thought of his return will get bums on seats! so economically its a winner

Well we certainly won't do it again if that's the result i produces. :smiley-laughing002:

For what it's worth I think Alex Neil appears to be a fairly good young manager. Still has quite a bit to learn though as well as any young manager.

This season yes he did. It's staggering - look it up. Even checked in their forum to make sure. That's why the board aren't happy.

    It's common knowledge aswell.

Thanks. Not on the laptop so couldn't put stuff up. I got the official figures but there's a lot of undisclosed fee signings and their forums had numerous figures - so it was near £30m .

But £20m odd is loads especially in the championship.

I'm fairness I suggested him a while back - before I knew of his reckless spending.

Derby were doing well at one point and still only 5 points off automatic promotion, bit of a knee * reaction from the board I think, he's always came off very professional in his interviews.

Alex Neil is a good shout. For me, either Neil or John Hughes. But obv. I hope Ronnie gets this all sorted.
Don't get his comments on Boyatas challenge though. He clearly got the baw.

i dont like to mention who while ronny is in charge, but some of these being being spoke of are bonkers, remember the superstar manager roy keane knocked us back, and he is a so called CELTIC MAN.

The guys mentioned are an embarrassment. John Hughes, Alan Stubbs, Alex Neil, Michael O'Neill etc should be nowhere near the Celtic job they are Hibs and Kilmarnock level managers.

I don't think he is a manager, decent coach though. He's too depressing looking and dull to be a manager, would be a great assistant or that to another manager but probably out our price range for that given he'd want managers wages.

John Hughes would have us playing good football, he'd have us really well drilled, he'd handle the players well and he'd give youth a chance. I think he's done really good work with Caley.

That's all moot though at this point. Ronnies still the man and I really want him to succeed with what he wants to do here.

I suggested Yogi after we beat them 3-0 because in the 1st half we could not get the ball off them and he always wants his team to play good football. We can dream of Moyes etc but the reality is yogi is within our reach and I personally can't think of a Celtic man we could get that knows the league, hates the new club and deserves a chance. As I posted previously he is maybe not the most eloquent but hey ho.
