Well, we'll see anyway. He'll probably retire after Ireland. Which shows you he probably cba and/or doesn't have the knack anymore for club football.

Disaster at Sunderland - I don't even know why he took that gig.

When did our fans become so resistant to hiring proven winners in favour of European hipsters? There is a risk involved with hiring a foreign coach that is not associated with hiring the three managers I have named.

I am not against hiring a foreign coach either before people start. I am also aware that both 2 of my picks are also foreign as they are fellow Irishmen but I am talking stylistically and not really in terms of nationality.

If we did hire a foreign style coach and he done the business great but why suggest them when the likes of Lenny, Moyes, and MON are simply the best options available. They are the best options I dont understand why people want to hire a manager when there is risk attached to the appointment. It doesn't make any sense when we can just hire a sure thing.

the only thing I have seen from hibs the last 2 years is massivee underachieving and bottle merchants who can play a bit of decent football now and again.

To sum this thread up, most of the options being listed here are either ludicrous or completely unrealistic. Yet people act like there's loads of brilliant options out there queuing up to take Ronnys job if we were to sake him tomorrow.

If were going with the stubbs logic, which is disgraceful in my opinion.why not yogi hughes, derek mcinnes, robbie neilson, john Collins.all * options in my eyes although surely better safer bets than stubbs?

oneils only failure was at sunderland.the job he done at villa was fantastic and very underated in my eyes.it will be decades before a villa side gets as high as a 5th place finish never mind doing it two year in a row.

Aye they really are. I thought he was smarter than that.

Naw really sure what was going on in his mind.

If he waited a bit longer, he may have been in the running for the Liverpool job - maybe. :smiley-laughing002:

Dunno, guys gotta work and put met on the table I suppose.

I agree he did a good job - spent a * tonne mind. I won't go in to it again, there was a massive thread I made about him and it was widely debated. They'll never achieve that in the next decade anyway.

Many still blame him for their problems though, he's looked at sourly there. Bizarre because it stems higher than him.

Edit: infact had a look on their forum - googled his name and that - they * despise him by and large - blame him for everything.

I think Og isn't factoring in that Lenny left off his own accord and most probably won't come back even if we wanted him back. MON is an absurd suggestion, we need a younger manager who has a longer term vision.

I've pointed this out before but MON Brought through more you g players than any other manager in the last 20 years.

He wouldn't come back though. He wouldn't work under this board and he would cost a fortune.

I could live with him and Keano hi. He's only 63. The timeline does not work though with the euros, our qualifiers and the fact that we might need to hire our new manager by this day next week. If we drop another point I expect even our board to enter defcon 1.

Nothing wrong with the words...... every sports team has a philosophy and a vision :smiley-laughing002:

Not having one wouldn't make any sense. "what's your philosophy", "eh we don't have one..... we just tell our players to go out there and kick the ball toward the goal". "do you have a vision for the future of the club", "nah we've no long term ambition.......".

Getting annoyed over those words is just weird.

No I will just give you an algorithm that will set us on the right path. Follow it and we're sweet:

    1. Hire Moyes.
    2. Qualify.
    3. Spend all qualification money on first team.
    4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until Moyes leaves.
