No to stubbs, sorry but i think hes mediocre,he hasnt proven himself yet.

Last season he was poor and this season he still sits behind a very bad sevco side,i just cant see him motivating us at our level tbh.

If he went on to beat sevco and maybe win the cup, then theres a possibility he can be taken seriously for our club.

Remember our next manager has one * of a job to do and with immense expectations this time

Can't see that happening. He won't get anywhere near the backing he had his first term here

I think Monk is a semi realistic option which is why I put them in there not that I like him to much like Ronny for me

Michael O'Neils a *, would be dreadful appointing him.

It will probably be some rookie * or a diddy from the English Championship.

    * saying Moyes and Rodgers need to get their heads out their arses, they could walk into EPL jobs on £60k a week, they're never going to come.

Not Stubbs for me, needs more top flight experience under his belt.

Would any manager in the SPFL be worth a shot?, Jim McIntyre. Just throwing it out there.

Because let's be honest there is no chance of getting Moyes, Rodgers or even a Roy * Keane. That's how much this board have let this team fall, we can forget any top level proven manager (not saying Roy Keane is btw).

I agree in principle but the timeline does not work. They will be at the euros minimizing our chances to prepare for the qualifiers. It's Moyes he can come in now.

I think Keane and O'Neill could do both jobs.

One of the negatives which many managers and coaches have about working in international football is there are no proper day-to-day duties.

I think Roy Keane could be the Celtic manager and continue as Martin O'Neill's assistant for Ireland on a part-time basis.

Similarly, I think O'Neill could continue to manage Ireland and work as Keane's assistant on a part-time basis.

I think given the respective ages of those guys, and the kind of commitments which would be involved- it would be a pretty good set-up.

I would love to see both of them here but they have a job to do with us first so we would have to wait until after the Euros. This risks qualifying next season and also the title this season. The optimal solution is to hire someone to steady the ship right now and to start planning for next season aka Davie Moyes.

What are they up to between now and the Euros starting?

I was under the impression that international management was pretty intense, but only at very few points in a year. The rest of the time they're just going to games to watch one or two players.

Unless maybe the Euros are on at the same time as the Champions League qualifiers start?

I wouldnt be fond of the aul double jobbing both as an Irishman and as a Celtic man. It could work though but would be tricky to dot the i's and cross the t's. Moyes is available right now, we could offer him a contract today.

    I don't think it's too outlandish.

Keane has said that he wants to get back into management, and I can't see an English Premiership or one of the better English Championship clubs going for him.

He was clearly interested enough in the Celtic job last time around- when he spoke to Desmond and Lawwell. But maybe this is where you're right- and the problem is he's just not willing to work with someone like Lawwell?

    I know.

O'Neill, Moyes, Rodgers are total pie in the sky talk, it's like suggesting we should sign Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane or Charlie Austin in the summer. They would not even consider the wages we could afford.

Those 3 could walk into jobs like Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke or whoever and probably be paid £60/70/80/90/100k per week with big budgets and quality players.

Our next manager will be someone like Alan Stubbs, Paul Hartley.... at best someone like Mick McCarthy, Paul Lambert or Steve Bruce but probably even then still unlikely or the equivalent type of manager from abroad.

Roy Keane is not managerial quality imo life as an assistant awaits him

Should be WGS as interim until a thorough recruitment process over a number of weeks has taken place looking at a range of candidates and importantly, not allowing what has happened with Deila to put us off going for a left field appointment again. Candidates should be allowed to put forward their own vision for the club and have it assessed, not simply be beholden to Lawwell`s `plan`. Any new guy should be given full control over his own backroom staff and Park should go as part of a review of the scouting department. Alas, none of the above will be possible because Deila will be here till the end of the season and we will have to go hunting around a matter of weeks before the most important games of our season.

Good post. We could save ourselves the headache though by getting Moyes.
