I noticed that he said in an interview 85% of his games have been at LCB. Does anyone know if this is Simunovic's preferred side or does he play there out of necessity?

It's more hope than anything else. Efe and Boyata have both shown to be error prone so we are kind of pinning our hopes on this guy.

Nothing wrong with that really. He isn't some unknown from the * end of nowhere (or dundee utd for that matter). He has a bit of pedigree.

Here's hoping he can do the business.

Jozo I think will be more comfortable on the right.

Is there a Final Battle form where they all combine to create the Mecha-defender Ambrosimuboyachenko?

    Feared across the galaxy.

Hope so. It's strange to have two right footed CB's who both profess to be very comfortable on their left foot.

Same, im suprised at what I seen in the poll there, basically everycunt voted for Simunovic and Sviatchenko.

Boyata I think started dodgy, slack passing giving the ball away a couple of times even in the same game but he came on to a really good game, I see him as a pretty solid defender, good in the air, good tackler, gets in quick to intercept the ball and he cut out mistakes on the ball was looking more and more comfortable up until he got injured at carrying the ball over the halfway line and hadn't been making any slack passes.

Simunovic, I think is a player with a bit of class, he's comfortable on the ball, quite skilled and a calm player, good at bringing down high balls with the chest then playing it on the deck but I think he is quite dopey and lackadaisical defensively which is Ambrose/Loovens like, like he lets the ball bounce then panics or he is too relaxed and a bit slow to intercept the ball and can get turned easily, it's like he doesn't spot danger quick enough and although more mobile than most he's not as quick as what we've been used to Ambrose, Van Dijk, Denayer, Boyata and hopefully the new guy and the way we play and leave our centre-halves quite exposed it's really a must for them to be quick off the mark. He's also really prone to mistiming headers too, something Ambrose suffers from aswell but Ambrose tends to still win the headers even though they can bounce in any direction, Simunovic has many a time jumped and not got near the ball.

I expect Boyata to do a Kelvin Wilson and become a good solid player who is well liked. Simunovic it's early days as he is still young and not that experienced and in a new country so will take longer to settle and probably improve but at the moment theres hints of Loovens/Ambrose about him.

Boyata looks a solid enough defender but he's poor on the ball and his decision making leaves a lot to be desired. If he kept his distribution simple then his game would improve.

I don't think he's poor on the ball to be honest, and his decision making has improved a lot. Played well before he got injured.

His distribution is shocking mate. The signing of Sviatchenko means that Deila doesn't fancy one of Boyata & Simunovic in my opinion, and I think Boyata will be the one to drop out, mainly because he is poor on the ball. We seen in the Europa League that we couldn't play out from the back when Boyata & Ambrose played together. I think Deila is trying to rectify that problem.

Initially did think about 2 from 3 CBs however Ronny could be looking to go with 3 big CBs, especially in SPFL with 2 wing backs - 1 of whom can fall back to make a back 4 - 1DM, 3CM and 1 up top. I just see the intro of the Lad giving us so much more flexibility rather than a rigid 4-2-3-1. However for me what it definitely does say is that he doesn't fancy either Efe or young O'Connell.

He might, but the fact we are being heavily linked with wingers wouldn't suggest we are going to change formation. If the rumours are true of course.

The only way we will change formation is if the rules of association football are changed to only allowing 10 on the park per team. We would then go 4-2-3-0
