Germany or France will destroy them I think (no offene Luz), regardless of Ronaldo's presence.

However I thought Wales were a bit meh. They were better than Portugal but they had no end product. They're a solid unit but they needed that sparkle, that bit extra or something. They never had it tonight and you could tell.

    Yep:icon_mrgreen:

The moment at the end where Ronaldo just love's his persistence and embraces him, was class. For all the falseness, that certainly wasn't..

I have no problem with the first sentence :50:, I believe it's the logic thing to think from a neutral stand, but I can't agree that Wales were better. I believe we were quite superior today and could have scored a couple more without being shocking.

Although Wales wouldn't deserve to go out that way, but that's due to their participation overall. Today it was a boring game in the 1st half and Portugal dominance in the 2nd.

I'll take that back then because i partially agree.

First half I thought Wales were better I should have said. The second I thought it was even, if not in favour of Portugal. They looked hungry and more likely to score - and did.

Edit: Glad they acknowledged Portugal's record on ITV aswell, rather than whitewashing them as *. We know they werent in the early 2000's, just recently they have been a bit lacklustre - certainly this tournament.

Portugal are so boring that they've had 21 more attempts at goal than Germany and 25 more attempts than France.

They have also had the most shots on target in the competition.

I think the job Ramsay done for wales was first class and the lad Ben Davis was missing as well so a slight re-shuffle for them that didn't see them create half as much, still tho what a great tournament for them was rooting for them myself and hoped they would make the final but football can be cruel sometimes I hope France make the final as iv got £25 on them from before it started.

I believe most portuguese fans want France in the final as well.

Euro1984, Portugal 2-3 France (semi final) - leading 2-1 in extra time, Domergue and Platini consume the remontada. 114' and 119'. 2-3 for France.
Euro2000, Portugal 1-2 France (semi final) - lost with a golden goal in the 117'. Penalty by Abel Xavier, the bleached hair guy.

That 2000 team was a joy to watch. The game against England is the oldest Portugal game I clearly remember in detail. 3-2 after being 2 down. Figo (what a goal), João Pinto, Nuno Gomes. Rui Costa with two assists.

Portugal was much more enjoyable to watch back then:smiley-laughing002:

Will this be the last time we see Ronaldo at the Euro's?

:smiley-laughing002: Very enjoyable. That Figo goal wow.

I wonder about Ronaldo, it's a bit of a mystery when his physical condition will start to deteriorate. He doesn't seem built like normal people so he could possibly play in 4 years time. Would be quite an achievement though, has anyone played in 5 major tournaments?

I seriously doubt it. He could easily play on for the best part of a decade.

Ah well, no point watching the final now. With Portugal in it it will be a borefest and no doubt go to boring extra time and boring penalties.
