I don't mind seeing teams taking a defensive approach. For a lot of the teams in the tournament, it's simply the best way for them to play, and it gives them the best chance of punching above their weight and progress in the tournament.

It might not be the most thrilling viewing, but it can still be good to watch.

 

There's defensive football then there's football played with no purpose or tempo. I think we're seeing a lot of the latter.

Massive game for Ireland, really hope they can get a result. If we could have the excitement of the Italy game again then that would be great.

Germany have been a bit shaky but they should go through with Belgium.

Aye I think Leone might have a point that Croatia didn't attack till extra time and then it's too late because players get too tired.

The tournament has been let down in the striker department. Lewandowski, Ibra were big let downs. Spain, Germany & Italy are lacking in that department. Ronaldo & Bale have got goals but haven't looked as good as expected outwith that. Hopefully opens up a bit when the bigger teams start to meet.

 

We'll disagree on this one. I've enjoyed the teams who have come and been well-organised. As I say, it might not be the most exciting football, but it's admirable that the likes of Northern Ireland have gotten so far with so little.

 

The Irish can frustrate the French I just feel however with the likes of Payet, Greizman, Martial and Pogba they can break them down but there's no doubt MON will have the same gameplan of sitting back soaking up pressure then hitting them late

 

Good kuck, Ireland. It will be a tough one, but everything is possible in football.

 

Ireland can't afford to be defensive IMO, it's too risky when they've got Griezmann and Payet charging at them with Giroud up top as well offering an aerial threat.

They should just take to them like they did against Italy. France won't be set up to defend, let's just put it that way. Give them a go and try and catch them off-guard is what I say.

 

C'Mon Ireland!! If anyone can lead them to victory today its MON.

By the way has this been the shittest Euros to date? Most games just seem really boring.

We tried to attack, but Portugal's mindset was totally different from the group stages. Ronaldo actually played well in defense. Santos made changes, and the leaky Vieirinha was out. We were unlucky, but in the end: when players are tired, a manager must react. Ours didn't do so in time.

 

This French team are only about to hit form.
