They shouldn't have played ultra defensive against England

I'm still astounded that Hart is automatically chosen ahead of Forster to be honest. There's really no argument who the better 'keeper is in my opinion.

I'd still go Ronaldo, looks like an extremely talented frustrated player. Vardy has looked a very average hard worker, missed a few sitters, including last night.

If I was in charge of a team with quality players, such as Germany or Spain then definitely. Ronaldo would thrive in either of those sides.

When he's playing in a team that isn't great though? Well, we've seen how he does.

Yes, he scores 58 goals in 128 games. I know it's hard to compete with Vardy's 4 international goals but I still think Ronaldo edges it.

Anybody with any clue about football would pick Forster. Luckily, the English are very ignorant when it comes to football.

This is spot on. It was obvious teams were going to sit in and park the bus against England because they are by far the best team in the group. From this point onwards team will have to come at them because its the knockouts and holding out for a point becomes irrelevent.

We see it with Celtic all the time. Teams sit in and become hard to break down and sometimes you have to dig deep for that goal. Last night it didnt happen and it was just one of those days where the opposing team defended brilliantly and England just couldnt take there chances.

Aye, I'm still saying that I'd rather have Vardy over Ronaldo based on form in this tournament, especially if I'm in charge of a team that actually has to play as a team.

No amount of highlighting Ronaldo's stats from qualifiers and the past is going to change that. He's been pish this tournament, and the head goes down when things aren't going his way.

Vardy works harder, tracks back, and is more of a team player, which I think is important when you don't have a lot of individual talent to rely on such as Spain does.

And no amount of disregarding Ronaldos ability is going to make Jamie Vardy a better option than Cristiano Ronaldo.

    Which was my original point.

Let's hope Hungary don't park the bus in the last 16...

Ronaldo was poor against Iceland but on another night he could've had a hat-trick against Austria. I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting a couple of goals tomorrow.

    I think it's called tactics.
Last time I checked, its been part of football for a long time & it is a part of England's remit to break them down & not moan & groan that "yeah but, no but" drivel that bleeds out of every pretentious infected orifice of the England camp every time they choke.
They are *, boring & fecking funny to watch!

That wasn't really my point. My point was that even some of the best players have struggled to make an impact. So this tournament isn't necessarily a reflection on the players quality

Aye, it's a reflection of it being a * tournament.

I think we were spoiled by the last WC.

I'm not a huge fan of international football in general. I thought the last world cup was good enough but most of the last few international tournaments have been littered with poor slow paced games.

Yup, best team. Beat Wales and was the better side. Conceded a last minute goal to a Russian side that parked the bus. Held to a 0 - 0 draw to a Slovakian side who also parked the bus.

    Ah, I get you.

Tbf this is the only time we've been able to judge Vardy or Kane outwith the Premiership. Can't say the same for other players at the tournament like Ronaldo or Lewandowski.
