Alan Stubbs would be a fantastic appointment , has Hibs playing some great football and seems to get the best out of their players and doing very well on a budget . Guy is tactically sound and i think he could make the step up .

The reason I mention Sutton is to give him the chance to back up his mouth with his actions in terms of giving these slackers a right good * kick up the * tbh mate - how many of these players are actually self-motivating/questioning themselves on the pitch? Next to none of them. Not one of them are * shouting/giving instruction/grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck etc - we need some * who could do that on the pitch........big Sutton automatically comes to mind. Larsson commands his own respect.

If not Henrik, then definitely I would be asking Lambert :50:

Said this a lot but Thomas Schaaf. He hasn't got a job at the moment, very experienced in all levels of the game we'd face and is available at the moment.

    First person I'd ask.

Sutton gets impassioned like he really cares about Celtic, I mean when he's watching us play poor games he genuinely sounds gutted. I think that is why folk might want him as assisstant because he knows the club well and had a great partnership with Larsson. How does he think he's Jock Stein? Doesn't sound any more up his * than the average pundit. Is his tactical analysis that poor? He sounds like he's * you right off if you don't want to see or hear him ever again :smiley-laughing002: I'm not saying I think he should be with us though, just don't think it's obvious he would be detrimental. Same way Larsson is too much of a novice to join us right now.

Who is he and what's his story? Can we afford him?

How is Larsson a "novice"? :97:

I didn't mean any disrespect, I meant he's not long into his managerial career is he, isn't he only 40 odds. I think the pressure at Celtic needs a more experienced guy. I would love Larsson to come here and be good, I just don't think it should be because he was a great footballer for us.

Wow Shaaf led Bremen to a double in 2003? That is quite a feat. He also led them to the Uefa Cup Final in 2009. Seems strange a guy with those stats would be out of a job if he's looking for one. Says on Wikipedia that he's retired.

Werder Bremen manager through there excellent patch, was manager of them from 1999-2013, was Franfurt manager last season but resigned after poor results. Only 54, quite young for a manager that experienced. Plays good football, capable of being pragmatic.

Put me on a mic, put you on a mic, put any of the thousands on this Forum on a mic and they'd be 'impassioned'.

None of us are qualified to coach a Celtic side either.

    So.

We need someone with the nouse to sort the team out on the pitch in the short-term with a small budget, and also someone who cares enough to develop our academy players and give them chances in the long-term.

How many managers, within our budget, would be able to do that?

    Maybe yes, maybe no.
Ive not heard much about him, but his age, experience, knowledge of the game and no doubt respect in Germany at least, thats the sort of manager I want us to have a look at. Someone who has done something in the game. Someone with actual experience.
He isnt the first name to think of, he wont be demanding salaries like val gaal and mourinhio, but he probably knows as much as those two.
He will no doubt cost more than deila, lennon, Jackie, Mowbray etc, but thats fine pay the fuckimg wage celtic and get a manager with the actual ability to lead a team to European success. No more with the projects and cheap gambles

I said Neil Lennon in the thread last night and I stick by it.

He'll be wanting out of Bolton, surely. And I just feel that, looking at Mowbray and Deila either side of his reign shows what a great job he did here.

He is a streetwise manager who knows how to get results in Europe, and he still knows a lot of our players. He's had his go at England and if anything I think that'll help him realise what he had here.

I don't think he'll come back. Think it was Paul67 who said he thinks he bailed before he needs to deal with putting his family through the Old Firm rivalry again, bombs and bullets, must get to a stage where you've had enough putting your family in danger.
