    He said he's going to two up front when Cole plays assuming Griffiths will be on for the knockdowns. Will be interesting how soon he chooses to do this. It could be two or even 3 up front which would be very adventurous. Cole and Griffiths should give the option of target man or Griff peeling off defenders making us a lot more flexible and our midfield less predictable.

    Cole and Griffiths would be a deadly partnership, as would Ciftci and Griffiths I think. Will be interesting then if he does go for 2 up top.

    I find it interesting he thinks only with the arrival of Cole can he go two up front. Stokes is by far the best 2nd striker we have. The little we saw of the partnership between him and Griffiths was deadly.

    The only time I can remember him getting put up top last season was when we were struggling, he set up Guidetti almost instantly (Guidetti missed), then he set him up to score the winner. Then he got subbed off, in this 10 minute spell or so.

    Clearly Stokes' face doesn't fit anymore but if he wanted to be able to go two upfront sometimes since he's been here and it's only the introduction of Cole that's allowed that, it further condemns his tactical limitations for me.

    Aye Cole's first few games are going to be very interesting just to see the if the formation changes. I think he tried Ciftci and Griffiths but wasn't happy with it so decided to buy Cole. Not sure if that's exactly what he said but definitely wants a target man. The Stokes situation is a mystery because as you said he is already proven and his stats are excellent for assists and goals.

    I'm not sitting on here seeking out * who spell his name wrong. Point is, it's not really hard to spell a manager's name right. It makes you look like a * and someone who is slow in the heed.

    Im sure in a interview somewhere he said shifty and griff will not work,so in comes cole.
    Makes you wonder with game time shifty will be lucky to get will his goals get into double figures as griff is the main man.
