shouldn't have hamstrung ronnie by imposing our coaches on him either

think ronnie's looking compromised i'd rather we got rid of collins and demoted kennedy tbh

ronnie should get the rest of the season as he has had no problems in the scottish scene if we manage to get decent coaches to help him maybe things will improve

 

Just a woeful night. Couldn't take our chances. Our captain out, our new look centre back who looks nost solid out straight away and our biggest goal threat injured and our best midfielder/emergency centre back sent off..

And that's without the dreadful defending, urgency,creativity,leadership..

What a genuinely utterly dreadful night all in. It couldn't have been puppet mastered any better by a bigot..

Unfortunately one is injury prone like * already, the other has to put up with playing with a * CB. Boyata has made mistakes but beside Virgil or Jozo he's looked solid every time near enough.

Lustig was great when he moved into CB, commanded the back line. Quicker Janko gets fit the better, Lustig is the answer to our defensive problems, said it for months.

 

Good point. Would be happy with Lustig at CB. Efe is decent backup for RB, a little bit less likely to cause damage there.

 

There are some simple things that Ronny should have done in the last few weeks. And none of them cost a penny.
1. Stop over working the players in training. It's costing us on match days. Folk can argue that the players should be able to give 100% in training and on match days. It's obvious that they cant.

2. If the full backs are going to be wingers you NEED three centre backs.

3. Too many chances are falling to players who are not natural goal scorers. We need 2 up front. I appreciate that tonight Grifiths was one of the worst offenders but in the pst he has done well.

4. Ditch zonal marking. If not completely then at least for set pieces. It either doesn't work or we don't have the players to make it work. Either way it's killing us.

5. Several senior players have failed to turn up time after time, yet the one youngster we played tonight was excellent. Give more young players a chance, such as Allan McGreggor and stick with Rogic for a few more games at least.

6. Commons must play if he's capable of walking. For a lot of the game he might not do much, but when he does turn it on he's lethal.

I can't see Ronny changing, so he has to go.

 

We can all be annoyed about our defence but if attack is the best form of defence then it surely must be the whole field to blame?

 

As per usual a couple of decent domestic performances has fans thinking we are back to the days of beating Barca.

RD is out his depth at this level. we are tactically inept at this level and are so predictable with no other way of playing.

 

Yeah true he is a lot more reserved on the right, but if it's Commons or Forrest out on the right then we might as well cut off a leg since Efe * himself going forward from RB :smiley-laughing002:

 

We've scored enough goals in Europe and could easily scored a couple more tonight, that isn't the issue.

 

RD: I felt we could get something out of the game but I don’t think we got up to the tempo and the level we had on Saturday.

The amopunt of times we were done by a fifa pass over the top was laughable

 

We should of scored a good few, unlucky with 2 offsides, Griffiths missing a 1 on 1 and several * touches were he could of broke through as he was 1 on 1 with defenders, Lustig denied by a brilliant save.
When your lucks out and the team doesn't step up that's what happens.

 

And to think we had the attitude of saying before these two games that it should be a 6-pointer for us. It should be. But it's not. Our team isn't good enough to make bold claims like that.

 

With tonight in mind one was not enough.

I love our attack and * defense but we need to have a better attack and semi decent defense for that mentality
