Think we should make new threads for every Stiliyan related piece of news, rather than giving us all heart attacks when this gets bumped :smiley-laughing002:

Great to see. He dragged us through many a game in the MON era and will always be remembered as a fighter.

Good to see him with a smile on his face , and running around . I was just remembering him scoring from free kicks that were rolled into his path . He must have hit about 4 goals in 5/6 games . I think victims included Juve and Dundee .

Is he cancer free now? Its devastating these things. We lost a great man Klas Ingesson a few weeks ago...

Don't see a thread on him here. Spoke well and looked back to full health last night - probably the only positive in the whole night! :smiley-laughing002:

Great to see him looking in fighting shape again and focusing on football, he comes across as a tremendous bloke and family man.

Yeah he looked much healthier last night. Bit of color and looking trimmer than he has done for a while. Hopefully his health troubles are behind him and he can focus on his career again.

Also, a great player for Celtic.

Cracking player and loved him at the club.

However (unpopular opinion coming) the cancer thing really clouded people's opinions quite a bit. Everyone went all soft on him - rightly so. However everyone totally overlooked and forgot about how he left us - he was a complete * about it all.

Kicked up a fuss, rumours about refusing to play and demanding he wanted to leave for the EPL - at least VVD was diplomatic about it.

Neither here nor there mind. Just thought it was interesting to point out how everyone was baying for blood back then but its totally forgotten now. :smiley-laughing002:

definitely was mate. It's depressing how far we've fallen from the O'Neill days in many ways, but I like the fact all the old-timers - Sutton, Hartson, Petrov, Larsson etc are fans now as much as any of us. Would be great to have Stan in our current midfield!

I'm not sure that's entirely correct mate - the situation as I remember on was that he could in fact have left for nothing as his contract was up in 6-12 months and he could've taken his pick of Europe's top leagues at the time. I'm sure he signed a new one on the agreement that he would be sold during the next window.

    I definitely remember that, I knew I wasn't tripping.

But it definitely wasn't a happy fair well or it might have been between him and WGS (maybe he didn't want him to go - or go so soon).

Either way - even look back on here - people were pretty raging with him. He was being a bit petulant, or he just wasn't biding his time.

He signed a new deal so we could get some money for him. I think any rumours about his petulance are probably false. But i do remember there being a bit of ill feeling about his departure, because he didn't really join in with our end of season celebrations.

Talked a lot of sense last night. Id like to see him as a pundit more often.

    He looks great too :50:
