For me the best player to play the role johanson is now is armstrong . I don't know if he'd ever played left wing for dundee utd before we signed him and he's wasted out there. If we wanted a left winger we should have signed a left winger .

I'll be honest here mate, this kind of attitude worries me hugely. You're essentially saying he stays barring an absolute catastrophe of epic proportions....or is given the rest of the season the scrape through and get yet another shot at the CL. We really need to raise our expectations as fans if just winning the domestic league (minus any real challenge) is acceptable.

Honestly, there hasn't been a Celtic manager in my lifetime that gets as much of a free pass as Deila, we've actually gotten to the stage now where we're used to failure.

Well said . It's starting to feel like our reputation and history is starting to be tarnished for the sake of one man's determination / experimentation to see if he can get this so called system he believes in to work .

    Lay off the glue.

You don't do yourself any favours using terms like that about the huns.

Nationality of a manager means absolutely nothing.

I'm keen to know from the ones who don't want to see the back of Deila, what has he done to make you think he deserves to stay?
His signings have been *, his European results poor at best, apart from a 3 month spell in the middle of last season his league results aren't great, there are strong suggestions that some top players are unhappy with him, the team falls apart under any sort of pressure.
What makes you want to keep him?

My worry is we finish a close 3rd in the EL group with a few "decent" results against the bigger teams.
We then go on and win the league and maybe the Scottish cup. All of ronnys faults and frailties will be forgotten about (because the system works in the league not because it's a good system but simply because the rest of the league are * poor) so we get to Europe next year and were in the exact same scenario pumped out of the champions league qualifiers by * teams except the Huns are back so extra pressure to perform in the league and getting rid of him then would be much worse than doing it now.

No, if I were, I'd maybe be stupid enough to type in text speak too.

Exactly what I worry about and unfortunately I feel it's the most likely outcome. Deila is comfortable where he is and the board are happy just having an agreeable guy who won't rock the boat.

The crude sketch above will help put our vulnerabilities into perspective for those who cannot see. Look at the photo and think to yourself if you were a team how would you hurt a team that does this?

Lawell could have won a double or a trebble if he was in charge last season, in other words you or me or any * on this forum could have picked the team and won the same mount of trophies, would have been a success if we had a strong rangers but we havnt!!!

That's probably my biggest worry too . The only way we'll win in europe with this unchangeable system is if every player manages to play out there skin which happened in a couple of games last year and ultimately papered over the cracks of a bad season .

Easy for you to sit there behind a keyboard and say that, without putting in any of the work that the manager has. :50:

That's exactly whats going to happen m8...we could all have a snooze until next sept/oct and wake up and be in exactly the same position again , although theres a huge possibility we don't even get to the last pre-champions league qualifier and instead have to qualify for the Europa league as well !! That's the road we are heading down under ronny you can book it !!
