Having seen that I hope we get Morton at home so we can rest players ahead of the Dons game.

Gives the sponsors time to decide which ties they want in their random draw.

That's the only drawback about this tie is that we've got Aberdeen a few days after and they'll have a full weeks rest.

We absolutely must beat them at home which I'm sure we will but the team we play midweek is going to have to be good enough to beat whoever we play.

    Should be fine.

I don't fear anyone left. I just want a home tie. It is a busy period for us, but we've a decent squad, all of whom are available so far, so it's only extra travelling I would want to avoid.

It will be Hibs away after they beat Aberdeen, the SPFL will see that as the potential bannana skin for Celtic.

Ideally yes but I think you need both teams to agree as well as everyone else, there's not a chance those * would agree given our schedule. Also I think it may be on tele, seen it's a an early KO

Yeah, it's bound to be on tv. Didn't think about that. It's a savage number of important games in quick succession. I'll be honest and say we need them all too... hopefully we'll get someone we turn tge development bhoys out for in the cup

Why? There is not a reasonable reason in the world why. Having to deal with additional fixtures and sometimes fixture congestion is part and parcel of being successful and having a squad capable of dealing with it is likewise.

    We are Celtic.

If we start doing this sort of thing then we are looking to be given special treatment, and there is no reason we should need or want to be handed this. And, IMO, if we start on this train of thought it only further entrenches the sense of inflated entitlement that many on here seem increasingly to be affected by.

That is the sort of thing that is a symptom of a diseased culture, like that of Mordor. Even since the resurrection of Zombieco, asking to postpone Div 3 & Div 2 games because a couple of their players were called up for Scotland squads... even for games in which not a single one of their players was in the starting line up or played any part in the game, even off the bench. Yet needed the SFA to OK to have entire fixtures postponed against part timers.

What does 'we are Celtic' really mean?

A countries Association should be doing everything in its power to help its members in Europe. Other nations do it, why can't ours?

It's not special treatment. All teams have the option to request it for whatever reason. It's protecting our interests in all the competitions we are in, especially Europe, and giving ourselves the best possible chance to win all those games and progress as far as we can in the competitions and hopefully win the majority of them. If anything it's very sensible. Protects the players as well.

Huns doing it has nothing to do with us whatsoever. Firstly, they are quite entitled to do it if they want, but they only made themselves look like absolute morons for requesting games against part timers to be postponed and then end up scraping a win or getting beat by said part timers. Did themselves no favours in any way and were rightly laughed at for it and still are.

Also, it's one thing asking for postponements in the first division, it's another when your competing in the top league and cup competitions domestically, as well as Europe. Big big difference.

Asking for a single game of 5, all within a 15 day window, all of which are arguably very important to the shaping of 3 different trophies is not throwing a tantrum at fate. It's wise management of an unfeasible schedule. There's a very real chance that a bad result in there will see us knocked out of a trophy. Besides which, it's not an even playing field, as noone else is currently in 3 (proper) tournaments. Given one of these effects the coefficient for the entire country it's not unreasonable to expect that the sporting body responsible for the game would assist as a one off.

Besides which... i was only asking if it was possible. You started the 'we are celtic' bravado. To point to a parable for you, I'm pretty sure Goliath was sure he could take any competitor too, because he was Goliath...
