Over 15 yards he has that burst of acceleration that Armstrong lacks to get past players, not saying Armstrong is slow since when he gets into his stride he can bomb on. Again more skilful than Armstrong also meaning flair, he takes players on and creates the space where as Armstrong looks for the pass more of the time which is why he struggles a lot on the wing.

Can't say I'm overly excited but we'll see what he can do.

Armstrong's a good bit quicker, Christie really lacks a bit of pace - not saying he's slow but he does lack a bit of pace.

I wasn't meaning to compare his skill to Armstrong I do believe he is more skillfull but he's not the type to take players on from a wide position, likes to create as well.

He'll have to arm wrestle Scott Allan to see who will get on in the 87th minute of SPFL matches while Armstrong and Johansen gallop about for 90 minutes doing * all.

When's he back? End of Jan?

Looking forward to seeing what he's about. If he gets a chance that is.

Leave him at Caley for the season. Bring himself and Henderson back into the mix in close season and let the places be selected on merit for the coming season.

    Something like:

    Gordon
    Janko, boyata, Simunovic, tierney
    Brown, Bitton
    Forrest, commons, Christie
    Griffiths

With henderson as sub for brown and Bitton, allen for commons and a battle between others for the rest is not too bad, or unreasonable. With an experienced spjne of Gordon, brown, commons supported by a single experienced CB brought in we'd have structure. From such foundations we could build for that spines replacement over the next 2 years, with that crop of young lads gaining their own experience.

That's if the Scottish/young lads have the quality to form the spine of the future team given our aspirations in Europe.

Don't know enough about Christie but am curious to see if he's an Armstrong or genuine quality.

Henderson, aside from a bad injury (more often than not the fate of our best youngsters), I feel is future captain material, so impressed with him, has the full package. Would definitely be happy with him as a starting CM in years to come if he continues to develop.

Should've been left there for the rest of the season. He was guaranteed first team football every week at Caley thistle. Not here.

Agree. He'll see about as much action in the second half of the season as Allan did in the first.

Boy is losing out on 15+ odd starts.

Don't think settling in at his new club and getting used to the surroundings for 6 months in more beneficial than that at this time of his development.

RONNY Deila says that Celtic recalled Ryan Christie halfway through his season-long loan spell at Inverness Caley Thistle as it was an ideal opportunity for him to become accustomed to life in Paradise.
The 20-year-old signed for the Hoops from Inverness back in August on a four-year contract. He was immediately allowed to return to his former employers on a temporary arrangement, but the Scottish champions held an option to bring him back in January, one which they have decided to exercise.
And the attacking midfielder – who was voted Scotland’s Young Player of the Year last season by the Scottish Football Writers’ Association – will now be aiming to break into Ronny Deila’s side once he recovers from an injury he sustained back in November.
The manager said: “Ryan’s arrived at the club so it’s a positive. He’s still injured but he will start full training around the end of January.
“It was important to get him into the environment here, so he can get to know all the boys and staff, and start working with them, and to allow him to get used to the way we train and play. That could be very positive going into next season as well.
“He’s a very talented No.10 player – that’s his best position. He has to fight with everyone else to get into the team.
“We feel he has ability to do something at domestic and international level. He is still very young, playing Under-21 football for Scotland. This is a very talented boy with a very good attitude, but he also needs time, along with a lot of the others.
“First he has to start training with us and get fit again as he has been out for a while but at his best level we know he can change games. He did it with Inverness so why couldn’t he do that with Celtic?
"There is stiff competition in the team and a lot of players who want to play, and he will be involved in that competition. We have to take it day by day.”

Sounds like he'll be playing through the middle then, good stuff.
